Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
Ok. This is, undoubtedly, the most outstanding-delicious-amazing-wonderful dessert recipe I have EVER tried. Unbelievable. If you don't rush right out and pick up the ingredients for this, you are missing out ON LIFE! I have tasted a lot of desserts, I have tried a million recipes, but I can honestly say (and my family will agree) that this is the most wonderful dessert ever. It was made by the Gods. You know how every recipe you read on Allrecipes.com has reviewers improving upon the recipe in some way? Well you won't see that with this recipe. Nope. It would be absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to improve on this one in ANY way. It's perfect. Sent from heaven. And in addition to the perfect flavor is the fact that it LOOKS beautiful, even if you throw the crescent rolls in sloppily (like I did). It's also so unbelievably easy to make that I am ASHAMED I didn't know about this sooner because it would have saved me a lot of sweat and stress while trying to throw something together for potlucks. All I can ask is that you not share the recipe with anyone. It's so good it should be a secret!

Brazilian Black Bean Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2007
This a absolutely and BY FAR the most delicious stew I've ever made. I thought initially that my family wouldn't like it because, well, mango + beans + ham + cilantro? But I got compliments all around for the absolute amazing flavor! This collection of tastes are fantastic, I couldn't believe it. Now I am throwing a little dinner party JUST so I can serve this and soak up all the compliments! SO easy to make too.

Sausage Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
This is a pretty darn good recipe. I really enjoyed it; especially since I personalized it a bit for my family. Pillsbury makes a pie crust that is flat so that you can use your own pie dish. It's much much yummier than the croissant dough which is quite similar to biscuit dough. This is delicious of course, but I like the flakier, buttery consistency of actual pie crust. This Pillsbury flat crust is perfect for lining the bottom of a casserole dish or for cutting the lattice top. I don't know if you like roasted red bell peppers, but they are a delicious addition to this recipe. Just buy a jar of it, slice it up and toss it in the egg ingredients. Fresh mushrooms are MUCH more tasty and healthier, so try those instead. A handful of thawed spinach squeezed out is also quite yummy thrown in. And, lastly, because I just love the ranch dressing seasoning that comes in dry packets, I recommend throwing in half a package of this for some added flavor. Perfectamundo. Have a tossed salad on the side. Ideal time to use the rest of those fresh mushrooms and ranch dressing packet!

Lemon Zucchini Drops

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
This was a tastey cookie. I think my only complaint was that the cookie came out pretty flat and it fell apart when you grab one off the plate. It had a very impressive flavor and who cares if it falls apart-- it falls apart in your tummy anyways! ;-) Give her a try!

Crescent Cake Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
This was a very tasty cookie. It's not too sweet unlike many cookies. I absolutely love this recipe and it will be a regular here in my abode. I used almond slivers instead of grated almonds. Turned out quite yumm. Thanks for a delicious, perfectly textured, gorgeous cookie recipe! Full moon, new moon, any moon! This would be DELICIOUS with pecans and pecan or vanilla extract instead of the almond flavor. Especially if you love Pecan Sandies! I only refrigerated the dough for 15 minutes. The dough seems perfect for molding as soon as you finish blending ingredients.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
These are the best cookies I've ever had! I can't imagine just eating them around the holidays. The ingredients don't need to be altered, but I did play with the cinnamon a bit. I used 1/2 tsp less cinnamon and replaced that with 1/2 tsp of nutmeg. These cookies are so moist and cakey-- I love soft cookies and these are like fluffy clouds. I had to alter the temp and cooking time a bit, but that may be because of my oven. I baked on 360 for 18 minutes and just kept checking them. I didn't feel like they could cook all the way through on the recommended temp/time. Enjoy!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2010
This recipe is delicious just the way it is. I followed the directions but wanted more of a layered look once the bar was cut. So I layered the dough thinly, the choc chips, then more dough, then pb chips (my only ingredient change), then another thin layer of dough, and then topped it with some choc chips again and sprinkled coconut on top. They reminded me of my favorite Kashi bar. Next time I may eliminate the pb chips, use a rasberry flavored dark chocolate, melt it a bit in the microwave, and use it on the top with coconut. In the batter I'd just use much less choc chips so it doesn't get too rich. Super deelish recipe, thanks!

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
I just finished baking these cookies and I have to say-- THEY ARE FANTASTIC! I've made a few batches of really good cookies from recipes I've found here. But this one, by far, my family's fave. And I felt like I was cheating because it's such an easy recipe, but you couldn't tell by the flavor that it is boxed cake mix! Yummmm! I added 2 tablespoon of oil and added 1/2 cup of walnuts too. Those were my only changes. Next time I'll try white choc and raspberry chips.

Banana Cake X

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
Ohhhh, deelish! This is an awesome recipe, and I know what's good! So tastey and would be fine with no type of icing, but I did put some chocolate frosting on it. The fam loved it. I heated up some chocolate icing in the micro and drizzled it over the top. I used a bundt pan to bake. It turned out really pretty-- almost (ALMOST) too pretty to cut and eat! Thanks for the recipe!

Soft Whole Wheat Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2010
These were absolutely wonderful. I took the first reviewers advice and added 1/4 applesauce and 1/4 butter instead of the shortening. I think the applesauce made the cookie too flat. It's delicious, for sure, but it's not the soft cookie I wanted. Stick to the butter or shortening. It doesn't make this cookie considerably more healthy just because you cut 1/4 of the butter. You'll love this one!

Ratatouille

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
This was absolutely outstanding. I've never even tried Ratatouille before but my hubby was recently diagnosed with super high cholesterol, and I am trying to lose some weight from having my baby, so I've been looking for healthy meals to make. I saw this, had the ingredients, so I went for it. It was amazing. I had the parmesan in the bottle, by Kraft, and sprinkled that in between layers. I added a bit of brown rice I had left over from last night. And then I cooked some whole grain pasta. I topped the pasta with the ratatouille. A-m-a-z-i-n-g. I also went heavy on some oregano and garlic salt. This really made it delicious (I didn't have parsley). It's super healthy too-- great for those trying to cut some calories and cholesterol. Since I am trying to lose weight, I ate more of the ratatouille than pasta. Veggies are naturally low in calories. Try this recipe. I promise this will be a regular meal in our home from now on!

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
I really enjoyed this recipe. They are very delicious cookies. I used crunchy peanut butter and it gave the cookie a nice texture. I don't think I would have liked these as much with creamy peanut butter. I also added some minature choc chips which were unnecessary and just added to the calories. But the kids aren't watching their thighs! :-) Enjoy this recipe!

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
Oh! These are so wonderful. They are soft, sweet, perfectly perfect. My kids gobbled them up. All I can say is double the batch because one isn't enough. I doubled the batch, and used 1/2 Splenda. So instead of doing 2 cups of sugar, I used 1 1/2 c. sugar and 12 packs of Splenda (equals 1/2 c. sugar). This cuts back on some of the sugar so mom can indulge in these treats too!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
Absolutely amazing flavor! I'd suggest really watching these cookies while they bake though. They continue to cook even after you pull them out of the oven (and therefore lose that "soft" element). PERFECT flavor-- give this one a try!

Clone of a Cinnabon

I've never made Cinnamon rolls before but this was fool proof, easy, and the most delicious treat I have ever made. My family prefers this to any other dessert the stores or bakeries offer. I'm a hero now!

Peanut Butter Cookies IX

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
I followed the recipe almost completely but cut the choc chips and 1/4 of white sugar. I added 3 tsp. of honey instead. They came out flat, chewy, and delicious. They aren't the prettiest cookie I've made but they are certainly one of the healthier and delicious. The honey made the cookie stick nicely together and added some natural sweet. The cookie is really delicious without the chocolate, for those of you who are into a more natural cookie. And finally, let the cookie cool on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes before moving them.

Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2010
It's a pretty good pound cake. It's not as good as the last recipe I tried here but I couldn't find that one. I'm actually really bummed because I made this recipe for a MOPS breakfast tomorrow and it won't come out of the bundt pan. It's stuck fiercely, despite that I sprayed and floured it. I'm going to have to go buy a box of doughnuts in the morning for my MOPS group. I guess that's not the fault of the recipe, but I'm still giving this one 4 stars for it's near mediocrity and stick to the pan nature.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
It was a good recipe, but not outstanding. It was fun to try to make my own pizza dough. I think it's just as yummy and much easier to just buy pre-made dough.
