Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2013
This soup was really good! My husband has spent time in Hungary and said the flavor is definitely reminiscent of what he's eaten in Budapest. Considering how easy it was to make, we'll definitely be making this again!

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
This was an incredibly easy to prepare and delicious appetizer. I think the flavor is definitely bruschetta but with a bit of something special that the balsamic adds. I'll make this again, thanks!

Masala Chai Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
I was really looking forward to these and while they were good, I was hoping that the chai flavor would really come through and was a bit disappointed that it didn't. I think the next time I make this, I'll actually add a dash of various chai spices to the mix to really give it some punch!

Shreddies Frozen Mini Berry Cheesecakes

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
These were very tasty, but I felt like the strawberry flavor almost overwhelmed the cheesecake flavor. I think the next time I make this I'll reduce the strawberries by a quarter cup... but it was so good I'll definitely be making it again!

Roasted Beets and Sauteed Beet Greens

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
Two yummy side dishes, so simple to make... worth every star. This was my first time eating both fresh beets and greens. I have to say, I don't like pickled beets so much and was a bit leery of this new world of fresh beets, but they were delicious. The greens were also very yummy; on par with wilted spinach as far as my husband and I were concerned... thank you for the great recipes!

Honeydew Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Very good and refreshing! Not so good when it's not cold and I used less sweetener then the recipe called for because my honeydew was so ripe. Thanks for the recipe!

Baked Kale Chips

Wow, how fun and delicious! Followed your recipe exactly, so good! I like the idea someone had about soy sauce too... I might have to try that! Great for movie night!

Ricotta Fettuccine Alfredo with Broccoli

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
Not bad and between he ease of making it and the fact that it could easily be a one pan meal I can't give this recipe less than 3 stars. I followed the recipe to a T and flavor-wise it will require some tweaks for our preferences. That being said; I think it's a good base and I expected the ricotta to give it the texture it did. It looked positively rich in the pan!

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
As suggested, I stuffed it with crushed garlic and a lemon that I had quartered. First off, how inviting is it to come home at the end of a long day and smell a ready made delicious meal? It was so moist and delicious... but I have to say, next time I will put lemon, sliced onion and maybe a little garlic under the skin to really get that wonderful zingy flavor throughout the bird. There was soo much in the way of drippings, you'll have a giant pot of sauce or gravy... Far too much for one meal, even one as good as this. A true keeper!

Blushing Cranberry Pears

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
So delicious, lovely and simple... The pears just sliced like warm butter when they were done! I will make this again.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2008
I made several changes to suit my family's tastes: Instead of sour cream I used non-fat plain yogurt, instead of oil I used unsweetened applesauce, omitted the nuts and I thoroughly mashed the bananas. I would also like to mention that this recipe freezes well; I made a triple batch and froze two thirds of the batter which is just as good after freezing! Thanks for the great recipe!

Berry Cordial

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2008
My husband and I made blackberry and blueberry cordial for Christmas gifts last year with much success! Part of the fun was going and shaking the jars for months which sounds strange, but it built up quite a bit of anticipation and also, it was nice that we could both be involved in a project... for some reason I can't get him excited about knitting or making candles, lol. The only problem we had was that once the cordials were bottled, no one believed that we had made them ourselves! Because it's been a poor berry season here, I'm going to take the advice of one of the other reviewers and make this with plums this year. Thank you for sharing not only a great recipe, but a fun project!

Grilled Sea Bass

Reviewed: May 26, 2008
I'm so glad I found this recipe. My husband went charter fishingand came home with a month's worth of Sea Bass, and I had no idea how to make such a fishy fish taste. Turns out, this is such a great way to eat sea bass! I broiled mine and flipped it (and drizzled it) with extra virgin olive oil because I don't use butter, and it was still delicious. Thanks!
