Bean Soup With Kale

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2015
Fantastic soup met rave reviews! Minor personal tweaks: added some rainbow swiss chard & about a 1/2lb of sweet bulk sausage. Sub: 26oz box of POMI chopped tomato since I didn't have the fresh plum tomato. GREAT FLAVOR - ready for leftovers!

Mulligatawny Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2014
Call me crazy but I eliminated the curry. This was amazing and loved by all, several asked for the recipe. I personally like the protein combo of 1/2 bulk sausage and 1/2 chicken (6oz each) which admittedly makes it less healthy but wildly flavorful. We doubled all the veggies and rice to create a very hearty and very flavorful soup. As mentioned, I eliminated the curry completely along with the cream to save a few calories. Also tripled the thyme. Amazing hearty soup for the whole family. Flavor does develop and next day really is as good if not better. This has a long future for our family.

Rhubarb Crunch

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2012
Never used or tasted rhubarb - but this was a winner for ages 3 to 73!! I ran short on rhubarb and supplimented with 2 granny smith apples (diced). Used all other recipe notes, but ran short on butter - only had 3/4 cup which was perfectly fine. Looking for a way to use this item and it was a HIT!

Five Minute Ice Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2012
Seriously worth the 5 minutes. I made strawberry-basil ice cream. I thawed out fresh frozen strawberries, added 5 leaves of fresh basil, 1/2 lemon juiced and blended it all in a BULLET with cream. Made 2 batches and put it all in the freezer for later. Did it once before and it turned out GREAT.

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
Literally have made this soup 3x in last month. It's fantastic. Hearty and healthy, I did the math and it's 8 points plus for those on weight watchers - but that's for a 2 ladle serving. It's so hearty and filling you really only need 1/2 a serving to feel satisfied. YUMMY both my husband and daughter love it and have made dinner and lunches for following day. Great recipe.

Solid - easy recipe. Made them for our annual xmas cookie party. Followed exactly and they are a winner. Helpful hint: put cinnamon and sugar in gallon sized ziplock, drop dough balls into mix, seal and SHAKE. Fast, no mess way to coat them.

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
Seriously - this is a winner...every time. I've converted even the non-lemon lover with this one. CRITICAL NOTE - USE FRESH SQUEEZED LEMON. You won't regret it. Feeling daring - add a big handful of shredded coconut to the mix - YUM.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2010
my husband is a pie fanatic (and my mother-in-law the master baker). He said it was the BEST apple pie he had ever tasted. Used tart local apples from the farmers market - phenominal. Only minor modification was the lack of lattice work - clearly ahead of my skill level. Topped apples w/ sugar mixture & did a simple milk wash with 1/4 c of sugar crystals to top crust. YUM.

Easy Polenta with Tomato Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
I hate when people do this, but well... here's my super simple version. Premade Polenta from refridgerated section slice and bake 350 for 15min. In skillet: 1 can petite diced tomatoes with sweet onion and 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar, 1 TBSP of sugar, 1 tsp Kosher salt, reduce and spoon over polenta.

Honey Garlic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
Killer! Modified only minor calculation - used 1/2 cup oil, 1/2 cup vinegar. Threw all ingredients into my BULLET to blend perfectly. Great over chop salads: iceberg lettuce, corn, tomato and heart of palm. LOVE IT... will become a "staple" vinaigrette.
