Marzetti® Hawaiian Slaw

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
I plan on making this for my 50th birthday party with an Hawaiian Luau theme. I had trouble at first finding the Marzetti Cole Slaw dressing, but I was looking in the wrong place. my grocery store has it in the produce area, it is a refrigerated dressing !!

Burnt Sugar Chiffon Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
cake tasted delicious and moist. I whipped up some heavy cream to soft peaks and folded in some left over Burnt Sugar Frosting that I'd made for a different recipe. First I heated the icing in the microwave, let it cool slightly and folded it into the whipped cream. got big raves. the cake has so much taste a heavy frosting is just not needed.

Margaritas with a Bite

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
what makes this recipe a five star is adding a can of beer to the mix at the end. this cuts the sweetness of the limeaide and really kicks it up another notch. try it , you'll like it !!!

Campfire Vidalias

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2008
delicious, I did try the suggestion of using 1 beef buillon cube for each. the next night I placed leftover onion on top baquette bread and sliced gruyere cheese in the oven until cheese melted. wonderful cheese bread, good appetizer.

this is a great recipe, for a good time make these margaritas. my recipe only differs in adding Triple Sec. these are a favorite but can be dangerous.

Caramel Brownies III

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
I love brownies, especially caramel brownies. but I found these just too gooey. the recipe does not say to follow cake recipe and add eggs. so I didn't, if I make again I will add eggs and hope it cuts down on the gooo.

Tomato Brie Bow Tie Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2007
my husband and I really enjoyed this dish. after reading the comments about others having trouble with the cheese melted, I used the Alouette product of softened brie. I did heat 3 packages, until melted and then added the cooked bow tie pasta. I mis-read the recipe and used tomato sauce by Classico. Ladeled that on to the plate, tore fresh basil over it and then added the brie pasta with (my own addition of sauted shrimp) over the top it was delicious. a bit rich.

Sweet Potato Gnocchi

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
I love sweet potatoes, I've made gnocchi lots of times, however, this recipe falls short...very gooey dough? added more and more flour, added more nutmeg and salt. flavorless...ended up making a butter, brown sugar, maple syrup glaze sauce and that tasted good but mainly the sweetness covered up the bland gnocchi. a waste of sweet potatoes. sorry will not make this again.

Baked Scallops

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2007
good recipe but I found it a bit dry so when I reheated leftovers the next day I made a sauce with half & half, a little butter and mixed it with the bread crumbs which thickened it and that I really liked. When I make it again I will make it with the sauce. I used large sea scallops and the baking time was perfect.

Being that it's still baseball season here I made this fondue for dipping with soft pretzels. It was wonderful. A big hit at the family reunion.
