Grandma's Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2012
Attention Vegetarians! I made this without the bacon, and it was great. I used a purple onion and vegetable broth in place of the water for more flavor. I used 1 cup 1/2 and 1/2, and one cup So Delicious Coconut Milk.

Love this rice dish! Didn't cook it as long as the recipe called for, used vegetable broth, and just tossed whole almonds in at the end. loved this will make it again! I think I will use vegetable broth in the rice next time.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2012
ATTENTION VEGETARIANS! I am a vegetarian, but I miss chicken pot pie, so here is what I did. I substituted 3 small diced yukon gold potatoes, and two cups cauliflower for the chicken. I roasted all the vegetables in coconut oil with the onion. I added 1/4 cup more celery than called for. I used vegetable broth. I doubled the sauce like others:) I used coconut milk in place of regular dairy milk. I left out the peas because I hate peas SORRY MOM! I used a store bought pie crust, but will try to make my own next time. I gave it 5 stars because I know the original would be a 5 because the sauce and spice is what I really think makes this pot pie! Yum!!

Balsamic Bleu Cheese Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
I gave this 4 stars because it was so fast to prepare. I enjoyed the salad, but the dressing was lacking a bit. I think I would like it better with the dressing from this site as well called Deliciously Sweet Salad with Maple, Nuts, blueberries. That is not the full name, but you can find it if you search with that title. I will make this salad again if I have had one of those really bad days at work, and I am too tired to prepare something more time consuming.

Puree of Green Things Soup with Quinoa and Pepper Relish

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
I made this recipe. It is first very time consuming and expensive. Can anyone say Pizza night? I am sorry it was just not for us. I did manage to salvage the quinoa and garnish. Mixed those two ingredients together which were very tasty, but the soup will be thrown out. From now on, I will make sure I prepare a recipe that has been reviewed more prior to spending so much cash and effort.

Bramblett's Vegetable Stock

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
Amazing! I am on a low salt diet and needed a broth recipe. Followed this exact except for adding an apple. It smelled like Thanksgiving dinner was being cooked. This is my new recipe for broth I will look no more! Flavor is heavenly!

Roasted Mushroom Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2011
I thought this salad was quite amazing. I had to use mixed greens because I didn't have Boston lettuce. Didn't toast the pine nuts because I prefer them raw. Used an orange bell pepper because that's what I had. I used fresh lemon juice to make it extra special. I will make this again trying fresh basil and Boston lettuce. I am sure it will make it even better.

Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
Wow! We really enjoyed this recipe. My husband went on and on about it. Made it just like it says. We might like to add some spice next time. Seems more like chili than soup, but what ever it is we like it.

Angel Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
ok I was worried because the crust wouldn't stay up on the sides. It just kept slipping down, and I was also worried because there was not a lot of the lemon filling after heating it. I followed recipe to the T, and it turned out fine. Everyone really enjoyed it. On day 3 it was very good. The lemon was much stronger. Don't be afraid of making it in advance. The crust was not soggy. Will make again!

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
I was pretty scared about making this because of the quantity, but I followed the recipe to the T. OH! I am so glad I did. Everyone in my family, and people who came over recently for a dinner party raved about this dressing. No more store bought! I'm sold! Don't let the quantity discourage you. I could drink this stuff!

SORRY! FOLLOWED THE RECIPE TO THE T. This was the most sticky mess. I had it stuck everywhere by the time I got this batter in the muffin pan. They were just ok. Not worth the stress and mess. I will keep looking for something that works for me:)

Winter Vegetable Hash

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2008
Almost didn't make this. Scared by some of the reviews. Different strokes for different folks I guess. We loved it. The only thing I changed was adding 1 tsp minced garlic. I put some shredded Jack cheese over the top of my meat eaters plates. All family members enjoyed this.
