Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: May 10, 2012
Excellent! Hubby made these but left out the wine and they were wonderful. We didn't even need a knife for them. Leftovers were yummy too!

Butternut Squash Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
This was a great recipe. I accidently left out the thyme and I used regular bread crumbs and Italian seasoning. Worked perfectly. I also used Feta because I didn't have any blue cheese. Even with the changes it was yummy and if I had made like the recipe stated it would have been even better.

Absolute Mexican Cornbread

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
Great recipe. A few things I changed was using only 1/2 the butter, very important. Next time I'll only use 1/3. I used 1 1/2 cup of just cheddar cheese and instead of cream corn 1/4 cup of buttermilk and a can of corn. I only used 2/3 cup of sugar as well. This was amazing and makes plenty enough for leftovers. Nomnomnom!

Spicy Beef Vegetable Stew

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
Fantastic recipe! I used 3 cups of beef broth instead of water and granules. Added in all the veggies left over from the previous week of dinners. Put in about 1/4 teaspoon of celery salt in place of the celery and only used 1/4 tsp of pepper. My kids even ate this and asked for seconds. Great, easy, quick recipe. Thank you!

Delicious. Like a raisin/sugar cookie though I wouldn't call them puffs so much.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
My first time making fudge. I was confused because I put all the ingredients into the pot then turned on medium and it never came to a boil so I turned it up to high (while stirring) and the mixture started to brown on the bottom. I am not sure how you get it to boil on medium or if I was suppose to turn it up. Either way they turned out fantastic. I cooked stirring on medium till melted then high to boil for a couple minutes. Stirred over heat for 10 minutes in all.

Cake Mix Cookies IV

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
Very easy to make, bakes quickly and easy to add different things in. We tried plain as is the recipe, with walnuts, walnuts/chocolate chips, and our favorite was plain and just as they were done around the edges, removing then and placing a Hershey kiss in the middle. They did have a metallic taste to them, but it is the same taste as is in boxed cake mix.

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
This recipe is fantastic! I haven't had red beans and rice like this since I was in LA. I asked for the recipe and was told, "Just what you like, child." I never was able to make it taste well until now! I'll be making this at least once every two weeks! Thanks!

Red Slush Punch

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2008
This is fantastic! Everyone loved it! I kept out 2 cups of the mixture and just refrigerated so that even the first servings would be flavorful before the slush started to really melt. I also used sprite. I tried a second batch with Black Cherry Jello and it wasn't nearly as good as regular Cherry.

Tortellini Alfredo

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2007
This is good but I felt it was missing something. I will make it again but I think I'll try putting in a more flavorful meat instead of ham and maybe some more veggies.

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: May 17, 2007
This is an excellent recipe as is! No need to change anything. A few tips I have are: Mix the tomato paste with water before adding in. Use fresh garlic 2 cloves/tbs and saute them for a minute or two in onions. Try it with the cottage cheese even if you don't like cottage cheese. *I* used 1/2 cottage cheese and 1/2 ricotta. I also added fresh mushrooms to onions and garlic. I steam spinage and chop it and add it into cheese mixture to get some veggies in. This recipe is one of my favorites and I LOVE lasagna!

White Bean Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2006
This is TO DIE for! I love it! I used a can of corn rinsed. I only used 10oz chicken broth, 2 cans of beans, and 1 tsp corn starch and it is just perfect! I didn't use any tomotillas but used 1/2 cup salsa and some extra tomatos instead. Thanks so much!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2006
I don't like pie and I loved this recipe! I made mine by using one of each different kind of apple I could find, fuji, granny smith and two other kinds I can't remember names. I put them in a bowl and sprinkled with 1tsp cinnimon and 1tsp nutmeg then tossed. Poured most of mixture in and tossed again then put in ready made crust. I drizzled the rest of the mixture (sugars) over the top of the crust and it baked beautifully! I did the 15 minutes at 425 then 30 at 350 then I turned the oven off and let it sit. So yummy!

Granny's Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2006
The oven temp on these must be wrong. I cooked for 85 minutes and they still aren't done except for right around the edges. The edges are tasty though. Could use more chocolate taste.
