About this Cook
I'm an Army Wife and mother of two precious girls. I'm originally from Southern California but am currently living in Texas. Right now I'm into cooking and baking. Just basically experimenting. I'm more of a baker though, but I do cook. I have a few recipes of my own that I've been wanting to put up just haven't had a chance to. I will soon! I have a six year old and a three year old little girl. they're such a ham! They're mommy's little helper. They loves to help me in the kitchen. My husband is a LT in the US Army. I come from a big family. I'm filipino and only know how to cook two filipino dishes so I'm hoping to change that soon. I LOVE I Love Lucy! I'm such a fan of hers. Hence DesiluGirl. HeHe. Well that's all for now.
My favorite things to cook
Chicken, Cakes, Cookies, Breakfast items, Brownies, Appetizers. I like to try and cook everything.
My favorite family cooking traditions
It's not really a tradition but no one in my family measures ANYTHING!
My cooking triumphs
Enchiladas, Casseroles, Dips, Pork Chops, and Chicken.
My cooking tragedies
Meatloaf and Chicken Noodle Soup. I still need to find that GREAT recipe!

Basil Chicken and Pasta
This was very easy to make. I did add green beans to it. My kids loved it but it was too much for my lactose husband. Overall good recipe!

Pancakes
This is a very good recipe! However I did read some of the reviews and added some ingredients. I added 1/2 T of Baking Powder and Sugar, 2 tsp Vanilla and Salt. I also didn't sift my flour and it came out just fine. The pancakes came out nice and fluffy! I will definitely make these again it's very simple and all the ingredients are already in your pantry =)

You seriously can't go wrong with this recipe! it's easy, it tastes good, and you already have everything in your pantry! it was my first thanksgiving to cook dinner without my family! and let me tell you it came out DEE-LI-CIOUS!! all of my friends ate up the turkey! I am tempted to go out and buy another turkey and make it again. it's just that good!
