About this Cook
I'm a newlywed and fairly new to cooking. Fortunately, my husband will eat just about anything. Even if it's burnt or just really, really weird.
My favorite things to cook
I like to make anything with a lot of flavor. I've gotten really good at making orange chicken.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Christmas cookies every year, decorating them with ten bajillion different kinds of sugar sprinkles, chocolate chips, coconut, etc. You get the idea.
My cooking triumphs
I made chicken fajitas by accident. I cooked chicken with taco seasoning, threw in some chili powder and simmered it until the water was completely gone. I had flour tortillas, green onions, sharp cheddar cheese, and sour cream french onion dip (because I had no real sour cream left). I never expected this to turn out, especially after adding the dip, but it was great.
My cooking tragedies
My microwave kettle corn burned. :( Twice! But it was a few years old and had traveled all the way from Kentucky to Michigan to Colorado in a variety of temperatures, so I can't hold anything against the kettle corn.

Roasted Garlic Lemon Broccoli
The lemon gives it the needed kick. Lemon pepper seasoning is what I used to use, and it just wasn't quite enough to make frozen broccoli more flavorful.

Best Bread Machine Bread
Tasted great but fell even though I added extra salt as another reviewer suggested. I will try adding a half cup of flour next time to see if it makes a difference.

Buttery Soft Pretzels
Fantastic! Did not change a thing except using regular salt dissolved in the water instead of kosher. Tastes exactly like the pretzels you'd find in a mall. No butter needed!
