Easy Focaccia

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2007
Really delicious! I used cheddar cheese instead of parmesan as I didn't have any. It rose might more than I was expecting, but that wasn't a problem. We ate most of it standing around the cooling rack!

San Francisco Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
Very nice slightly sour white bread. I skipped the first rise and the egg wash/onion. So far this is the only sourdough bread that I have ever made, I've made it twice with a newish starter and it worked well.

Old Fashioned Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2007
I followed the recipe exactly and the biscuits were VERY dissapointing. THey were insipid and din't taste of anything. I tried them golden brown [and they were slightly raw] and thoroughly cooked [& they were very crispy, brown and a bit more tasty] but neither had a molasses taste. I don't recommend these!

Cookies for Rookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
I used oatmeal and crunchy peanut butter and they turned out well. Not my favourite cookie, but nice as a change. I got 43 random sized [medium to small], very pretty cookies. Oh, and I broke a spatula mixing the dough!

Eggless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2006
This is a great cookie! I've never eaten, let alone made, peanut butter cookies before, but these are brilliant and easy to make. They taste peanut buttery, but light and unusually for eggless cookies there is no baking soda aftertaste! I used margarine instead of shortening, semi-skimmed milk + 1 tsp vinegar [for buttermilk] and only half the salt. I baked at 180C for 11mins in a fan oven and they came out chewy in the middle and crispy at the edges. I also froze half the mix to bake later as it made about 50 cookies. Next time I might try it with crunchy peanut butter. I'm going to add a photo so you can see how they came out.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2006
Excellent, especially as I have discovered that I'm allergic to eggs. I used all regular sugar, reduced the chocolate chips to 1/2 cup, and cooked for about 14/15 minutes. I'm gonna try dried cherries next time, instead of raisins and chocolate chips
