Char Siu Pork

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2013
Didn't have anise or aji mirin, or dark soy sauce. I substituted white rice wine and normal soy sauce instead. I doubled the sauce so that the pork was completely covered in a tub and marinated for 2 days. Hubby loved it!

Blueberry Coffee Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2011
This recipe needs the extra milk (1/4 c) or it will be too stiff to spread in the pain, but with the extra milk it is great!

White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
Mmmmm! I made these because I only had white chocolate chips and pecans on hand to make cookies. I used steel cut oats instead of rolled oats, because that was also only what I had available. They turned out SOOOOOO good! The steel cut oats actually worked great, and gave them a crispy texture. It is true that they turn out great if you take them out when they are slightly brown on top. I baked the first batch like that and then thought they weren't done because they were still gooey, but after they sat they were perfectly soft and chewy. If you cook them longer, they are still great--just crispier depending on your taste.

Sunshine Toast

My hubby and I always fight over whether these are called "Tiger Eyes" or "One Eyed Jacks". They are most def Tiger Eyes...but they're good even when he mistakingly calls them One Eyed Jacks too.

Buttery Cooked Carrots

A great way to serve carrots with a slightly sweet dish. Go great with porkchops with a sweeter topping (brown sugar or cranberries).

Vegan Apple Carrot Muffins

These turned out great. I have been needing some fast breakfast food in the morning and these work great. I used 3 bananas in place of the egg replacer and added raisins....they are great with pb:)

As a vegetarian trying to lose some weight, this was a great recipe to add to my new weekly menu! I served them like a hamburger patty. Yum!

Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
These turned out great! Rave reviews from the fam when served. (I never bothered to use the egg, and I used minced garlic instead of the chopped onion, FYI).

Brown Sugar Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
First 10 I have ever received when cooking for the hubby! I did as another reviewer suggested and only used a few chops, and cut up potatoes and carrots that were cooked with the pork. Served it all with the glaze drizzled over the top.

Strawberry Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2007
Both my fiance and loved this recipe..although I altered it so much I am not sure if it still counts! I made a graham cracker crust instead, and ommitted the almond flavoring and almonds, as well as the glaze. I put strawberries on the bottom as well as on top of the filling and then topped the whole pie off with sweetened whip cream. It was awesome! The filling was very light and creamy, but not too sweet.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2006
My fiancee said it was the best meal I had ever made. I'm a vegetarian and trying to expand my skills at cooking meat, so thought I would give this recipe a whirl--glad I did! I used fresh minced garlic instead of garlic salt, and sour cream and a little milk instead of just milk, and then about 1/4 cup dry sherry instead of the 1/3 cup white whine and apparently it turned out great! Thanks!
