Pork Chops Stuffed with Smoked Gouda and Bacon

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2004
Wonderfully easy and tasty recipe! Our grocery had only precut ones, so we weren't able to get the thicker cuts which meant there was lots of stuffing left over. Regardless, this was real simple to make and at the end of dinner, my guest and I were gnawing happily on the bones, LOL!

Lumpia (Shanghai version)

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2003
Great recipe. Tasted just like the lumpia I ate growing up. Just need to find the perfect dipping sauce for it, then I'm in heaven! LOL!

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2003
Followed this recipe to a 'T' but hubby still found it mediocre. 4 year old wouldn't touch it. I think it was kinda' dry, but even making extra sauce to pour on top didn't help.

Chili I

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2003
This has got to be the best chili recipe ever! My hubby just loved it...he brought some to work and his boss ate two bowlfuls! I have subsequently emailed him the recipe to avoid him bugging hubby about me making more, LOL! Our local grocery didn't have any sirloin so we just used 2 lbs. of lean ground beef. Fantastic with garlic bread for dipping. Wasn't as hot as we like it, so will add more chili peppers next time. Cheers!

Best Beef Dip Ever

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2003
Wow, was this ever amazing! The cooking time was perfect and the au jus so lovely. I did add a little beef broth and used less water but otherwise, didn't change a thing.

Vegetarian Phad Thai

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2003
I'm sorry, but this turned out pretty badly. I followed the recipe, plus a couple of suggestions to cut down the peanut butter, and I still found that this came out very glutenous and sticky and way too sweet! I feel cheated that I wasted my money on the ingredients plus wasted the ingredients themselves!

Nacho Dip II

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2003
This was excellent. Only had chili with beans, but it didn't detract at all. Didn't have a can of green chillis, so I chopped up some jalapeno, which added a really nice bite. Also, threw in about 1/3 cup of sour cream as a layer before the shredded cheese and it came out fantastic! Will definitely be making this from now on for informal get togethers!

Salmon with Brown Sugar and Bourbon Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2003
Such superb results for such an easy recipe! Hubby forgot to pick up bourbon so I used Bushmills Irish Whiskey instead. Made this as a main course for a dinner party and everyone raved! Delicious and will definitely make again...

Stuffed Mushrooms with Swiss Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2003
I just loved this! Used shallots instead of onions, and we didn't have swiss cheese so I put slices of Brie on top to melt over the mushrooms. Amazing!

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2002
Simply outstanding! So easy to make for the results you get. I followed fellow reviewers' suggestions and got 5 cans of clams, and used bacon (which I love in everything anyway!). Next time, I'll leave out the celery and throw in some corn. I've always been leery of making clam chowder because it seemed like such a daunting task, but thank goodness for finding this recipe...I'll always be making this from now on instead of eating the canned stuff!

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2002
This was alright, but I didn't think it was amazing. The first two slices I did burnt a little, but then the rest came out perfect. Hubby and daughter liked them.

Cocktail Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2002
This was an interesting dish, butjust didn't do much for me and hubby. The meatballs turned out too "moist", and we prefer them firmer. I also just couldn't reconcile the sweetness with the chile...

Artichoke-Chile Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2002
I didn't have tinned chiles so I finely chopped a jalapeno pepper and threw it in...next time, I'll do two peppers. Also, only had about 1/2 cup of Parmesan so I used Romano as the other 1/2 cup. The dip turned out a little salty for my taste but other than that, I loved it! :)

Garlic Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2002
This was a great recipe to use for parisienne potatoes! Used as a side dish with roasted chicken, along with Orange Glazed Carrots, this made a fantastic meal... Hubby would like to use a little less lemon next time, but I had absolutely no complaints against it...had to go back for seconds!! :)

Orange Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2002
This was a perfect side dish for roasted chicken, along with parmesan new potatoes! Hubby decided that instead of cooking on the stovetop, he blended all the ingredients and poured over the carrots in a casserole dish, then placed in the oven with the chicken and potatoes. They turned out fabulous!

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2002
This was a great recipe for that typical mid-week dinner. You know the kind, mum and dad come in from a long hard day at work, kiddies running around asking what's for dinner. This dish was *so* easy to prepare and smelled great in the oven! We're very please with how this turned out, and it went well just with noodles and veggies.

Guacamole

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2002
Good stuff! I love coriander (aka cilantro) so it was a treat to have this ingredient included. The second time I made this, I threw in some chopped jalapeno pepper for extra punch...yum!

Broiled Herb Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2002
This was a good dish for a busy weekday supper. Hubby was so surprised how fast I got dinner on the table last night. You have to watch the temperature on your oven though as mine tends to be higher than most and halfway through I had to turn the temp down a bit to prevent everything from burning. I also followed fellow reviewers' tips on poking holes in the chicken prior to pouring the butter on top...thank goodness! It made quite the difference. Served it with steamed parisienne potatoes and warm dinner rolls.

Tina's Avocado Salsa

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2002
This was okay. I think I shouldn't have used the super chunky type salsa as that totally detracted from the taste and texture of the avocado, the one ingredient that I wanted to experience when I made this dish.
