Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
Very good, simple instructions, very easy. Used about 10 lemons and got a good workout! Next time, I might cut back slightly on the sugar. I love how simple and fantastic this was!

Risotto with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Mozzarella

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
This was my first attempt at Risotto. Was a lovely dish, but wished I had added more seasoning.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
My husband made these, and enjoyed them very much! They are easy to burn, so make sure to watch the dish carefully.

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
Love these! I made the mashed sweet potatoes the day before and kept them in the fridge - this cut down on the preparation time the next day. Although the chili powder may seem like alot, don't worry, it's not too spicy!

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2010
Probably a 4.5 star rating actually. Added about 1/4 cup white wine towards the end. Husband really liked it - served with rice.

Quick Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
I used fat-free 1/2 n 1/2, husband didn't notice the difference and shaved off 100 calories per serving!!! Very easy and quick - serve with a big hunk of your favorite bread.

Super Simple Salmon

Husband loved it - it looks beautiful when you're done! This was probably the easiest Salmon I've ever made! Definitely a keeper!

Slow Cooker Dump and Go Cheesy Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
4 stars for easy, 2.5 stars for originality. Probably a hit with kids, and chicken was moist. Served with a side of seasoned rice (as the picture suggests). I would recommend this dish to someone who wants a quick dinner, but not to someone who is looking to impress the in-laws.

Jacksonville Carrots

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
5 stars for originality, 5 stars for addictive factor, and 5 stars for flavor. Jacksonville carrots are for those that want to impress. I followed this recipe exactly, with the exception that I used normal apple juice instead of concentrate - won't do that again. Use the concentrate, I can imagine it gives it a sweeter apple flavor. You can really make this ahead of time, just wait to "saute" the carrots when you have 5 minutes left of all your other dishes to be done. A must try!

Baked Sweet Potato Sticks

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
The paprika gave this a really great sweet flavor. I think my "sticks" were a little too Texas-sized (ie big) and didn't crisp enough as a result.. so next time I'll probably cut them down a little slimmer.. I also added a dash of kosher salt to these - YUM!

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
Husband said this was "ok" - more of a novelty idea I think. I think this would be great with kids who like cheeseburgers, but for adults there are probably better recipes out there. I couldn't get the cheese to stay inside (like so many others), but I think it turned out ok.

Roasted Garlic Lemon Broccoli

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
Really good - just adds an unexpected zing! Watch the broccoli on the last 5 minutes in the oven... mine was done before the time was up!

Campbell's® Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
This is a standard recipe that tastes great. I made it for my Canadian relatives that had no idea what a "Green Bean Casserole" was, and they loved it!

Sweet Potato Casserole I

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
I followed the recipe exactly... This seems to be a popular dish, but it was way too sweet... everyone at Christmas dinner agreed! I would cut both the white sugar and the brown sugar in half. The constistancy of the dish was also too runny...

Mom's Best Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
A good classic peanut brittle. I added a 1/4 tsp of vanilla (as per another reviewer). Already in a gift box and looks tasty! Next time I'll try cashews!

Turkey Broccoli Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
I wish I could give it 3.5 stars...what can I say? Husband didn't really love it.. it would have been higher with a little more flavor. I agree with a previous reviewer who recommended the onions be caramelized a little. Throw in some garlic and seasonings and this could easily be 4 star.

Golden Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
Husband liked this - I used a cheddar flavored instant potato mix. He liked that cheese flavor. Has requested to make it again. Only negative is that the edges of the chicken was a little tough - so I guess next time I'll reduce the cooking time by 5 minutes.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
Really great, husband loved it - served on french bread, sprinkled with cheddar. I used the Jack Daniels honey bbq sauce.. I think it's a quality product, but if you use a "honey" or "sweet" bbq sauce, you probably should cut back on the brown sugar (maybe half or none at all) that the recipe itself calls for. Will definitely make again with that only change.

Herbed Greek Roasted Potatoes with Feta Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
Holy Cazoly, these were fabulous! Followed the recipe exactly (with the exception of mint - which I forgot at the grocery store). The subtle lemon and garlic flavors are so beautiful... next time I might add a dash more of both! Also, the recipe does not say this, but I stirred it at the half-way point.. I think it was a good idea. Yum!
