Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
These were very good - I doubled the recipe and added 1 tsp. cinnamon. The only other change I will make next time will be to use an unsweetened "all-fruit" jam to cut out some of the sweetness and try half applesauce for half of the butter.

Cheese Garlic Biscuits II

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
I don't know what happened with these, but the texture was gummy and crusty and not what I am used to. I wanted to find a recipe to make without Bisquick mix, but I'm going back to "Garlic Cheese Biscuits" on this site, they are much better.

Flourless Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
I LOVE chocolate, and this was a bit much for me. Tiny slices are best & would serve many more than recipe states. I served with raspberry puree and whipped cream. I prefer molten chocolate cake or traditional chocolate cake to this. Cut into tiny squares, these taste just like truffles!

Oven-Baked Caramel French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
Yum! Extra sauce not needed - it is an easy make-ahead breakfast and tasted great with bacon & fruit. I cut back and used 1 1/4 cups of milk, but I found that it could have used the extra milk - so I will stick to the original recipe next time!

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
Made as written except half the onions & one can of black beans. I enjoyed this salad a lot. However, I keep forgetting that I'm the only one in the family that likes couscous - so no one else would eat it (husband & kids 15,14,& 12) and they like most everything!

Glazed Lemon Supreme Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
I have made this 4 or 5 times by now, substituting different flavors of cake mix/jello mix. Lemon is wonderful, but our favorite is orange. Either way, I substitute orange juice for the apricot nectar. I haven't found it at the store. I will keep looking, because this is an easy dessert to whip up. Oh, one peice of advice: poke holes on the bottom of the cake, pour HALF of the glaze on the bottom & keep the other half for the top!

Cherry Pie IV

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
Delicious filling - I used 2 cans of sour cherries packed in water (each around 14oz) and used Pepperidge Farms Phyllo Sheets as a crust and made a cherry tart! It was a hit and the best cherry tart/pie I've ever had!

Chocolate Pecan Pie IV

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
This was a good pie, I used a Pillsbury crust - I love pecan pie & thought this would be the ultimate. It was good, but not "the best" or even great, just good.

Fluffy Whole Wheat Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
After the rave reviews, I feel bad for being negative. I've gone over the recipe several times - I made exactly as written except for making drop biscuits instead of rolling/cutting out. They completely lacked any flavor, and in fact seemed rather sour. I think that there may be too much baking powder in these. I loved the fact that they were made with whole wheat flour mix - but the only way they tasted good was with a HUGE amount of honey & butter on them!

Apple Cream Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
Wow - this was a delicious fall breakfast treat! I prefer more of a streusel-like topping, so I added 2 T. of MELTED BUTTER to the nut mix & used 1/2 cup of BROWN sugar. I followed the rest of the recipe, but used 2 apples in the center instead of one. It was even better when fully cooled. Thank you, we will enjoy this recipe often!

Puppy Chow

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
This recipe is a 5 star one adding the MISSING ingredients! The original recipe on the back of the Rice Chex box is the same, except for the addition of 1/4 cup butter and a teaspoon of vanilla (add after melting the butter/pb/chips in the microwave).

Granola Bars III

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
These are delicious...bars. I would not call these granola bars. They are similar to a Quaker Breakfast Cookie, but better. I reduced the sugar to 1/2 cup, but kept everything else. Also added 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips. Thanks!

Strawberry Cobbler I

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
This is my new favorite fruit dessert. I served it over vanilla ice cream & it was loved by all of us, including our guests. I used 3 cups of strawberries & 1 cup blueberries, half the water, 1 & 1/2 T. cornstarch, a bit more sugar - And sprinkled sliced almonds & sugar on top. YUM!

Strawberry Cream Cheese Clouds

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2008
I personally think that the filling tastes much better in mini-graham crusts (buy in the grocer's baking section). The puff-pastries don't have much flavor. I made half of the filling recipe to fill 8 mini-pies. I pre-baked the shells for 5 minutes after brushing them with an egg white. These are very rich and filling. I thought these were very easy to make, had a cute presentation (with mint-sprigs as garnish) & a nice dessert for entertaining.

Three Olive Spread

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2008
This is a delicious spread, for the serious olive lover...I used garlic-stuffed green olives and didn't add extra garlic cloves. I will probably make 1/2 recipe next time - it does make a lot. NOT the prettiest appetizer, so throw a few sprigs of parsley on top!
