Quick Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
This is really good. Made it exactly as written but used cream instead of milk (needed to use up a open container). Turned out great. For my personal taste I will probably cut back on the onions next time.

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
This recipe is great. Extremely moist flavorful cake. I love it and it doesn't even have the frosting on yet! I did have to increase the baking time by 30 min. The only change I made was to use a gluten free flour. Will definitely make again.

Best Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
I got this recipes from my Grandmother who used it for years before I was born. Our amounts are 1/2 of what is listed but are the exact ingredients. To make the flour/milk mixture cook until it is really thick (follows the spoon around the pan). For the butter/sugar mixture, we use regular white sugar. My recipe states to beat it for 4 minutes, then add the cooled flour/milk mixture and beat for 4 more minutes then add the vanilla. Great frosting. Compliments the cake without overpowering it!!!

Cinnamon-Apple Chex® Mix

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
I made this with rice chex since I can't eat wheat. It was still really good. Next time I think I'll try sliced almonds since I liked the flavor of the almond but not the big chunck of the whole almond. UPDATE 11/12/2010 I have since made this with sliced almonds and it was much better. I have also doubled the syrup mixture which we like better. The last time I made this I omitted the raisins and everyone liked it better (you got more of the apple cinnamon flavor)! Now by using sliced almonds and double syrup with or without the raisins I rate this a 5 star recipe!!

Enchiladas Suizas

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
This recipes is soooo good. I didn't have any chicken broth so I used chicken "better than boullion" instead. I also used a 7oz can of diced green chilis instead of fresh. I used a 4 cheese Mexican blend instead of the Monterey Jack/cheddar. I used more cheese than called for because we like a lot of cheese. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly and my was it good. I like it better than the enchiladas with red sauce that I make. Will definitely make these again. I bet my husband will make these with some pheasant that he has also.

Orange Tapioca Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
This recipe was great. I couldn't find instant tapioca pudding and substituted cook and serve as mentioned by another person. It worked out fine. The mixture takes a while to cool and the tapioca cooks while it is cooling. Even my picky 8yr old (who only likes plain jello) liked this!!!

Rich N Creamy Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
This was awesome. It was sooo easy to make. I did substitue frozen shredded hash browns for the cooked potatoes. I followed the recipes exactly except for that. I made them a day ahead of time for a party and cooked them for 1 hour at 350. Everybody raved about them. Thanks for the recipe. I will be using this again and again.

The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
I made these per the recipe but used only ground beef and pork (I couldn't find ground veal at my store)and omitted the water. I also used gluten free bread crumbs since I'm intolerent to gluten. I was afraid that the meatballs would fall apart but they held together very well. The taste was great. They were easy to make and I will definitely make them again. I will try to find the ground veal for next time.

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
Very easy to make and tastes good too!! I used fajita seasoning packet and black bean and corn salsa. I served it over plain white rice for my husband and me and cut my daughters up and made a burrito out of it. Everyone loved it. Will definitley make it again especially when I'm short on time.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
This is a very good recipe. I followed it exactly except I omitted the celery and tobasco (didn't have any or either). Served it with shredded cheddar and sour cream. It had just the right amount of spice. YUM!

Plain Cake Doughnuts

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2008
This recipe is so good and very easy. I followed the directions exactly and the doughnuts turned out great. I made them with regulat flour for my kids and with gluten free flour for myself. I froze the left overs and when reheated in the microwave taste just like they were freshly cooked. I have made this recipe twice now. The first time I made the dough 1/4 inch thick and to me it seemed too thin. The next time I made the dough about 1/2 inch thick and it made thicker doughnuts. They cooked in the 3 mins. called for in the recipe. The flavor of the doughnuts is really good too. Thanks for posting such an easy and good tasting recipe. Will definitely make these again and again and again!!!

Ten Minute Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
This sauce was extremely easy to make and was soooo good. I did use the entire 1/4 cup of chili powder (although mine was labeled as "dark chili powder") and found that it wasn't too hot. I don't like things too spicy and this was just right. I used this in the Chicken Enchilada Soup I recipe from this sight. It was sooo good. Will definitly make it again and use it for my enchiladas. yum!!!

Chicken Enchilada Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
This was a very fast and easy recipe. I did change some things though. Instead of using the red and green enchilada sauce (which I didn't have), I used a full reicpe of the Ten Munute Enchilada sauce from this sight. I then cooked the cut up chicken in the broth (I used a full can). When the chicken was done, I removed it and added the tortilla strips. I only used 5 tortillas for this. When the tortillas were mushy, I used an immersion blender to smooth the mixture out. I then continued with the recipe as written. I did add some frozen corn at the end. Next time I may add some black beans. I did top with shredded cheese and fried tortilla strips. This was really good!!!

Cream Cheese Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
I've been looking for a cream cheese based recipes since my sister lost hers. I think this is as good if not better. I loved it with the pecans but might add chopped red and green candied cherries next time for color.

Norwegian Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2007
Absolutely wonderful. Loved these cookies. I was looking for new ideas for my families Christmas cookie day and thought I'd try this. They were sort of crumbly but maybe that was due to me using a gluten free flour blend. I won't make these for the Christmas cookies day because I don't think that they would freeze very well due to the fact that they are so delicate, but will definitely make them again for everyday.

Fajita Marinade I

Reviewed: May 1, 2007
I never made Fajitas before so I looked at several different marinade recipes. This one had the ingredients I was thinking about using. The only thing I did differently was to use Taquila instead of water and added 1 TBS. dried oregano and 1/4 tsp. dried thyme. This was soooo good. My husband, who likes to "tweak" every recipe, said he wouldn't change a thing. I used this on flank steak but am going to try chicken and shrimp next time. Great Recipe.

Best Green Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2006
This was great! I used pepper bacon instead of regular bacon. Also, my husband and I both agreed that it would be better with fresh green beans so I used 2 1/2 lbs of beans (I increased the servings to 15) This worked great. My neice and nephew who normally don't eat beans loved them. Will definiely make this again!!!
