I am currently living in Germany. Born in Kansas City, MO. Raised in Southern California. My husband is in the Army and I have two children, my son Jayden is 3 1/2 and my daughter Austria is 2 1/2. Cooking is an art form and I love all the aspects it offers for me to be creative. I am currently trying to conquer my picky eaters and try to get my children to find delight in trying new foods, especially fruits and veggies. My favorite holiday for making food is Halloween, I love all the innovative ways you can find to serve foods to reflect the festivities. I am a vegetarian and an aspiring raw foodist, it is amazing the foods that you can create with raw ingredients.
My favorite things to cook
I will cook anything as long as it doesn't smell bad, my husband likes collard greens and I cannot stand the smell while they are cooking. Other than that, I am into presentation and love creating a unique atmosphere through food and everything surrounding.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking traditions are from my father, he had two things that we all loved, his spaghetti and chili. Now that he has passed, I find it easy to keep him alive through his recipes that I save in my heart.
My cooking triumphs
I don't think I have any major ones yet. I would love to make a gigantic wedding cake and decorate it myself. Or fix a variety of vegetables that my 2 and 3 year old would eat, that would be a huge triumph!
My cooking tragedies
I made pancakes from scratch, and the recipe was written wrong and there was too much baking powder (I didn't even pay any attention to the amounts I was putting in) and they were awful. The first bite I took was gross and my husband just kept going at them and I asked him if he liked them because I did not and he was like I am glad you said something because I was just eating them not to hurt your feelings. Another one would be accidentally using self rising flour to make sugar cookies, they turned out really flat and really salty, horrible!
