I'll work on this a little more later, but for now the basics...
I'm 24, I live in Denver (in Capital Hill, just southeast of downtown), and I work for ACORN, which is this awesome non-profit that works to represent and empower low- to moderate-income people across the country. I got my undergraduate degree in psychology from Northwestern in '04, and since then I've just kind of been doing some fun stuff in between that and eventually going back to grad school, including AmeriCorps*NCCC, which in my humble opinion is one of the best things this country has going for it, if our idiot president doesn't go and axe the program as currently planned.
My favorite things to cook
this is kind of a random, incomplete list: hummus, pita, quinoa, indian food, vegetarian food even though I'm not a vegetarian, bread, posole, pureed soups, roasted vegetables, anything with a lot of garlic in it, whole grains, legumes, granola, fried bananas, shrimp, wild mushrooms, polenta, curry, middle eastern food, pasta, bananas foster, energy bars, homemade dehydrated backpacking meals, miso soup, thai curry, coconut, pancakes, ginger, anything with rum in it, salsa, cold fruit soups, baked apples, any sort of weird vegetable I pick up at the farmers market, stuffed mushrooms, flafels, anything using tea or alcohol to cook with, stews, and anything cheesy
