Cinnamon Supper Cake

I substituted almond extract as I'd run out of vanilla, and just dusted the top with cinnamon and powdered sugar. its a delicious little cake, definitely worth making again.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

I made them gluten free-1.5 cups gf baking flour and 3/4 cup fine white cornmeal-and they are great. even my husband who is fairly critical of healthy variations liked them a lot.

Banana Cream Pie I

I'm giving the recipe 5 stars, but I made some changes and that would have made it less, if that was part of the original recipe...but, what I did was use the cornstarch. I'm always scared that custard won't set up, so I feel more comfortable with cornstarch. But it was a mistake to do so because it ended up a bit, just a bit, too tight. Most importantly, the meringue couldn't adhere to it very well, so it sort of slipped around on top, which wasn't very appealing. I think the flour would have had a better texture, something for the meringue to hold onto.

French Bread

this recipe makes me feel like I can make french bread every weekend. The first batch was so good, I made another one right away for rolls. I also forgot to add more salt as recommended in the reviews so I added salt to warm water and used that to brush on top--no egg. turned out great! thanks for a great recipe!

Golden Carrot Buns

these rolls are really perfect. they are delicious, and a bit more nutritious than regular rolls. I made a batch and froze them. They were best when eaten within the month. Just take out what you want to thaw, warm them up in the microwave or wrapped in foil in the oven if you want to. my kids loved them. they are a very pretty color too. Thanks for a great, unusual recipe!!

Spiced Peach Oatmeal Muffins

yummy muffins. I did add salt, vanilla, tbl flax meal and 1/2 c oat bran. Used 5 peach halves. very peachy. I ended up with 17 muffins, filling cups pretty much full.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

this is an amazing, delicious cobbler. my family goes crazy for it, and it never lasts longer than about 2 hours after I make it. I've also frozen this after I cooked it, then thawed it on the counter--great as is or warmed up in the oven. Love having this in my freezer ready to go!

Savory Slow Cooker Squash and Apple Dish

it was good, but I think it would have been better if I had cooked it for less time--probably because I halved the recipe and cooked it in my small cooker. It was great to have the squash and apples combined. I think less cook time and sprinkle with candied pecans would be great.

Cranberry Apple Bread

I am sure that this recipe works for the submitter, but most of the people who rated this highly added liquid or did something not called for in the actual recipe. The taste is fine (not outrageously good, but fine), but the texture is crumbly and difficult to slice. My dog definitely would give it 5 stars, since a fair amount has ended up on the floor with two kids trying it. I think that there has to be a more flexible, easier recipe to try for the same ingredients.

Creamiest Rice Pudding

I made this today for my 1 1/2 yr old and I because we are home with the flu. I gave him some warm and still a little soupy and its the only thing he's eaten today. Its delicious. And a great way to use up extra milk. thanks!

Cranberry Apple Muffins

I think these are fantastic. I used frozen cranberries. I didn't have any carrots and was scared that would affect the moisture. I added raisins instead of the carrots and a splash of soy milk when mixing them up. I also used 1/2 ww flour. They turned out great. I was nervous because the reviews were saying they were dry, but they weren't. And they have plenty of flavor for me, I really like them.
