Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
This cake was light and moist, without much chocolate flavor. I did kind of like it, even though I would definitely add a LOT more chocolate if I made it again. But I can see how some people who aren't huge chocolate fans would find it very tasty.

Grilled Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
This was great! I soaked the corn in water, left the silk & husks intact, and didn't add anything to the corn as suggested by others. **I don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but if you are going to soak the corn you can just put the ears in a bag, fill with water, expel air, and tie the bag. That way you don't have to worry about turning the corn or trying to weigh down the floating ears. Everyone in my family loved this corn!

Cheesecake Supreme

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
Incredible. I followed all the suggestions given by HEISLORD5, plus I added 2 tsp. vanilla per The Cake Maker. It was soooo good and did not crack. The texture was wonderful. I was told that it was my best cheesecake yet by several people. Thanks for the recipe and the extra hints from others!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2007
This is SO easy--I don't know how it could be any easier. My family loves it, and I often make it when friends are coming over. It's a stress-free meal that people really enjoy.

Quick and Easy Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2007
I thought these rolls were dry, and the topping was very thick and sticky--it didn't soak into the bread at all--just kind of sat atop very dry rolls. I probably should have taken various pieces of advice offered by other reviewers, but instead I prepared the recipe exactly as written. No doubt the results would have been better if I had modified the recipe per others' suggestions.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2007
I'm amazed at some of the reviews that indicate others have had trouble with this--it is SO GOOD! I usually use a smaller roast because the largest I can ever find where I shop is about 3#. I also use 3 cans cream of mushroom soup (because we like lots of gravy for our mashed potatoes) and only about 1/2 of the envelope of dry soup mix so it won't be quite so salty. I think it's about a heaping 1/8 cup. Then I cut back on the water--about 2/3 cup, otherwise the gravy is too runny for my liking. I make this all the time--the family loves it!

Shredded French Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2007
My husband LOVES this. The au jus is so wonderful. I used a rump roast--don't know if that matters. It was very tender and good. I also toasted the rolls and added provolone cheese under the broiler.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2007
These are seriously to die for! So good. The frosting is awesome too! I did double the frosting and cut back on the cinnamon--used 2 Tbs. instead of 2 1/2 after reading some reviews that said they were too strong with cinnamon. I don't know if it made a difference. If you want to impress--try these. You don't be disappointed!

Chicken Nachos

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2007
My family loves this. I leave out the cayenne and use taco seasoning. I also add a layer of refried or black beans, and I use more cheese. It's really good!
