Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2011
Brought these to a party and the bowl was hard to stay away from. The pecans were gone within 15 minutes. Delicious!

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
This was very good. I followed another's suggestion with the layers - cook meat with onion with generous sprinklings of black pepper and seasoned salt (I added green pepper and minced garlic also), then add soup and milk to cooked mixture. Put that in bottom of casserole dish, top with 1/2 cheddar, top that with tater tots, sprinkle with seasoned salt, and then sprinkle remaining cheddar on top.

Buffalo Chicken Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2011
I thought this was very good and will be making it again. If you like buffalo chicken dip, you will enjoy this recipe! Here were my changes: Was not spicy enough as written, so I probably more than doubled the buffalo sauce (just added to taste until it was as spicy as I wanted). I only used 1 Tbsp red wine vinegar, and I doubt the recipe needs that at all. Only added 4 oz shredded cheddar and added some nacho cheese sauce I had on hand. The mixture was liquidy after cooking, so I added a bit of flour to thicken it and let it sit simmering for 20 minutes which helped. I served this on thick TOASTED bread (I liked the textural addition of something crunchy).

Ultimate Creamy Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: May 14, 2011
I made this as written. It was very easy/quick and very good. Excellent for a weeknight meal. I would make it again. For those whose meat was tough: cook your steak to rare-medium rare. The longer your cook the meat, the tougher it will become.

Fish Tacos with Honey-Cumin Cilantro Slaw and Chipotle Mayo

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
I thought this recipe was excellent. It is a bit spicy, but my husband and I were able to handle it. I will be making these tacos again and again exactly as written! YUM!

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
This banana pudding is excellent and my husband and I can't stop eating it! I followed the recipe exactly, and personally, the vanilla pudding portion is my favorite part. YUM! Two things: 1. I will use a 16 oz container of cool whip for the top the next time I make this. 2. Make sure you eat this as soon as you can since the wafers will get mushy.

Veggie Pizza

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2008
This recipe was excellent. I made it with a friend so the work went faster. We used green and red bell pepper, shredded carrot, a chopped shallot, and broccolini. It was delicious and the "sauce" is wonderful! Great flavor! Anyone who enjoys eating veggies and dip will enjoy this pizza!

Mushroom Sauce Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2008
I will make these again! It is a homestyle recipe and tastes like something your Grandmother would make. VERY good and I made the recipe exactly as it is written. I heavily seasoned my chops - lots of pepper and garlic powder, and they were delicious!

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2008
I thought these burritos were wonderful and I can see myself craving them in the near future! I did make some changes to the recipe: I added corn, forgot to add the onion (didn't miss it either), used green pepper instead of red, and instead of jalapenos, used a can of diced tomatoes with green chilies (drained). I also added 1/2 tsp each of cumin and chili powder, though I don't know that it was necessary. And I used 8 oz. reduced fat cream cheese. I think these burritos are pretty versatile and you could put just about whatever you want in them. I would just point out though that these are not your average burritos and you need to really like cream cheese if you're going to make them! Enjoy!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2007
To be on the safe side, I added one can of tomatoes with chilies and one can of plain diced tomatoes. I was disappointed when the flavor was wayyyy too mild/bland! I would highly recommend preparing this AS WRITTEN! Lesson learned on this one! If it had turned out too spicy after making it the right way, I could have just added sour cream to my bowl to tone it down!

Rich Italian Sausage and Potato Soup

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
I really love the Olive Garden version of this soup, and I have to agree with the reviewers who said that this version lacks something. I added extra potatoes and then added some basil and black pepper to kick it up, but it still needs something more. I used regular Italian sausage, and using hot/spicy sausage might do the trick, so I'll try that next time. It's a great recipe to start with though and is very satisfying.

Cranberry Pecan Salad

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
I thought this was great! I agree that it has too much of an oil taste with the olive oil, and in the future I will leave it out and add extra raspberry vinaigrette instead.

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2007
My fiancée and I were not at all impressed with this recipe. Based on the reviews, I was expecting something phenomenal, and I even made the marinade into a sauce and doubled it in anticipation of liking it so much. Perhaps it was the build up that let me down, but the fiancée and I thought it was hardly even ok. There was nothing about it that made us want to eat it.

Perfect Baked Potato

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2007
Although I liked the olive oil/salt rub, these potatoes didn't turn out as crisp on the outside as I would have liked. I followed the recipe exactly and my potatoes were a medium size... so I'm unsure why mine weren't very crisp.

Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2007
This recipe was really tasty and easy to make. I didn't have celery, but did have all the other ingredients and used those. I also added peas, corn, and spinach. I added some garlic, black pepper, and lemon pepper as well. I topped it with the buttered saltines and about 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar. Overall I really liked this recipe... I really liked the crunch of the water chestnuts a lot! I have to disagree with the reviewer who said that you cannot tell that there's mayo in it.... you can taste that, and if you are making this for someone who doesn't like mayo, you should either cut back on the amount of mayo, or substitute a second can of cream of chicken/celery/mushroom/etc soup for the mayo. Thanks for the recipe!!

Streusel Strawberry Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2007
First, these are the changes I made... I used Old Fashioned Oats (all I had). I added 1 tsp vanilla extract and 1/2 tsp almond extract to the strawberry filling. I also upped the cinnamon to 1 teaspoon and I used cinnamon sugar instead of plain cinnamon. I used crushed almonds for the "nuts" (because the recipe didn't specify what kind of nuts to use). As for the review, this pizza was very tasty... I think your general fruit pizza is better than this recipe, but I had a can of strawberry pie filling and wanted to do something new with it. Fiancee thought the pizza was not sweet enough, so I would suggest adding more brown sugar than the recipe calls for, or adding some granulated white sugar along with the brown. Or you could serve this with whipped topping or ice cream on top. (I personally thought it was sweet enough, but I could see why someone might want it to be sweeter too). Also, there was too much topping... I would suggest following the directions about the topping, but only using as much as you want... for me that would have been about half of what was reserved for the topping. Finally, the second baking time might be off a bit... I baked mine for 12 minutes and it was done... any longer and the bottom crust would have been far too crispy. Finally, I think it is best served after it is chilled in the fridge for a couple hours! I hope that all helps, and thanks for the recipe Karen!

Chocolate Mint Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2006
I made these tonight and they are soooo good! Soft in the middle with a little bit of crispness to the outside.... they're fantastic! And they're so cute and little too! (I used a melon baller to shape them.) AND this recipe made about 112 cookies! Perfect for my Christmas parties coming up!

Lasagna Spirals

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2006
This recipe was great! Very filling and there were no burnt edges like there sometimes are when baking a normal lasagna! I left out the nutmeg because of what previous reviewers said, and I used 10 oz broccoli and 10 oz frozen spinach. I loved it with the spinach! Next time I think I might use only spinach in this! Great recipe!!!

Spaghetti with Garlic and Basil

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2006
This tastes super nummy and it was sooo easy! I sauteed the oil, butter, garlic, and spices while the pasta cooked. I used lemon pepper instead of black pepper and added a few crushed red pepper flakes. I also tossed the Parm cheese in with the hot noodles at the end so it would melt. It was delicious... my picky fiance even liked it, and that's saying something!!!
