Korean BBQ Short Ribs (Gal-Bi)

Reviewed: May 3, 2008
This is a five star recipe! My husband and kids all loved it. I changed the recipe a little, I used hot sesame oil, left out the sugars and instead used a couple of squirts of honey and it turned out perfect! Next time I'll try adding chopped green onions. Thanks for sharing this fabulous recipe!

Chicken Andouille Gumbo

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
This is a great recipe with a little tweaking. I used a whole chicken cut up, 1 bag of frozen sliced okra (I skip that part where the okra had to be cooked, I think it's unnecessary) I add a 28 oz can of whole tomatoes - crushed, added a chopped onion, I double all the spices, Double the sausage, slice the sausage and brown it (you can also use Italian Hot sausage and it turns out great, if not better) then I also add about 6 cups more chicken stock. With these changes this is probably the best gumbo I've ever had. Thanks for sharing.

Chicken Florentine Casserole

This is a great recipe but could be made better by using defrosted, squeezed chopped spinach or fresh spinach sauted in some olive oil.

This is really good. Instead of using mirin I used chicken stock and the recipe still turned out wonderful.

Pizza Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
My kids loved this dish. I omitted the bell pepper and instead of using store bought pizza sauce I made my own using 1 - 15 ounce can tomato sauce, 1 - 6 ounce can of tomato paste, 1 tablespoon oregano, 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and 1 teaspoon paprika. Mix all these ingredients in a bowl and taste for salt and pepper.

Pork Chops with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
My husband loves this dish. It's pretty forgiving too. I double the recipe and use a full pound of HOT Italian sausage. I also add in chopped green bell pepper. Sometimes I don't have tomato sauce so I'll use spaghetti sauce and the recipe still turns out great, if not even better. I've even made my own spaghetti sauce and that was my husband's ultimate favorite way to eat this. Omit the red wine, tomato sauce and Italian seasoning. Instead in a big bowl combine - one big can or two small cans of tomato sauce and one big fat can of whole tomatoes (crush them), 2 tablespoons paprika, 1-1/2 tablespoons garlic powder, 1 tablespoon oregano and salt and pepper the sauce to taste. YUMMY!
