Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2014
I was recently gifted a bread machine and promptly went searching for a good bread recipe. This was a good starter recipe, rose up well, and tasted nice. I've used this one a number of times now while getting used to my bread machine. It's a good basic recipe, though I will say it is best eaten fresh, as it is not very good the next day. Overall, though, it was decent.

Five Minute Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2013
While I have to agree, the taste is absolutely amazing with this! My grief, however, is that it was definitely a smoothie as the recipe stands. After firming it up in the freezer for a while it is great! This makes a great treat in the summer, or any time. I would definitely recommend it, just be sure to firm it up in the freezer.

Scottish Shortbread IV

Reviewed: May 28, 2013
These. Cookies. Are. Amazing!!! Like others I just whipped the out of the butter and sugar, then added the flour. No kneading at all. I added just a touch of vanilla as a personal preference and rolled these out with powdered sugar. So, so yummy! These are as good, if not better, than the bakery shortbread cookies. This will definitely go into my regularly used recipe box! A must try, you wont be disappointed.

Mrs. Sigg's Fresh Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2013
I had never made a pumpkin pie before, so this was new to me. I finally cooked and pureed my home grown pumpkins and immediately had to make a pie. The only thing I changed was not adding the full can of milk, as it just seemed like it would be far too liquid, and I'm glad I did. I made the pie for a family dinner and everyone seemed to enjoy it a lot :) Thanks for the great recipe, I'll be using this one again!

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2012
Wow. That's all I have to say. I've been struggling for a while now to get the right shortbread recipe and this one...blew me away. Amazing! Just like the perfect shortbread you would buy at a good bakery. Will definitely be using this one again. The only minor thing I changed was to add just a touch of vanilla extract, otherwise everything was left as is. Yum!

Cocoa Banana Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
While these tasted nice and all, they were most definitely not a bar! This made a moist cake, and that's it. I used a little extra banana as 3 was not enough to quite get 1 1/2 cups, so I added another which went to about 1 3/4, but that made it nice and moist. The taste was good as I said, but I was looking for something different than just cake/muffins with this. I'll stick with my muffin recipe I suppose, but that's not to say this tasted bad or anything, just not as it's claimed to be.

Carrot Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
I'm a meat eater, but I'm surrounded by fussy eaters and get rather tired of having the same meat dishes all the time so I thought I'd give these a try. I followed the recipe quite closely though I substituted honey for the sugar, and a handful or two of bran instead of some cornflakes since I'm trying to get more fiber in my diet. I finely shredded my carrots for a texture that I prefer as well. Overall they had an ok taste, and they were relatively easy to form, though I only got five out of this. If I make these again I would probably experiment with seasonings more, and likely omit the sugar (or honey in my case) as the carrots by themselves have enough sweetness. Thanks for the recipe :)

Oat-Bran Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
I really quite enjoyed this recipe. I needed a recipe to use up some bran flakes, and really didn't want to have to make bunch more muffins, and this fit the bill. They came out big and chewy with a nice flavor. I left out the chopped walnuts as I have allergies though. Nothing else was changed. Thanks for the great recipe!

Roxie's Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
I have only had bran muffins once in my life, and I was rather young when I had it...I hated them. A lot. Recently though, I've been wanting to eat a bit healthier so I thought I would give them another try. I omitted the raisins (I'm not fond of raisins in my baking) but other than that I followed the recipe exactly. The recipe was easy to follow, easy to make, and I was very surprised by how much I love these! To me they were definitely a banana muffin, which for me is great since I love banana muffins. I will definitely be making these again. Thanks for the great recipe!

Delicious Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
Great (large) recipe, and easy to make. My first time making pumpkin bread and it turned out just fine. I made the recipe into one loaf and two dozen muffins. I omitted the walnuts, as I'm allergic and used some chocolate chips and some raisins in my muffins. I also substituted half the oil for applesauce as other have suggested. Will definitely use this one again!

Elephant Ears

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
I have used this recipe quite a few times now and it never fails me. Though I must say it's quite a big batch, I always forget to half it and it takes me a while to use all of the dough up. I also never use cinnamon, but either way it's great. Tasty!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: May 5, 2011
These are my go-to recipe for chocolate chips. I've used them quite a few times now and my fella absolutely loves them! Very soft cookies, and I didn't change anything in the recipe except I chill my dough before baking. Thanks for the awesome recipe!

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
I halved the recipe and made cupcakes, it turned out to 12 cupcakes. It was quick and easy to make, though I found that it was too much oil. Even after baking there was a little extra oil on the bottom of the cupcakes, so I think next time I'll take others suggestions and use some apple sauce instead of some of the oil. The icing was awesome though, really tasty. Overall a really tasty cake recipe, will make again :)

Butter Tarts

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
Great tarts, and very simple! I didn't have raisins and I'm allergic to nuts, so they were plain (but that's how I like them best anyways). Overall, really tasty and super quick to make. My fella loved these, said they were perfect. Would definitely make these again.

Pumpkin Spice Cookie

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
I didn't have spice cake mix on hand, so like another reviewer I used a white cake mix and added pumpkin pie spice. Tastes just like pumpkin pie, but small and finger food sized. Really yummy, but they were definately more like cake or muffins than cookies. Still a great recipe :) Thanks!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
I have to say this is the first ever cookie recipe I did that turned out perfect! I'm a horrid cook/baker and these were so easy and great tasting! If I can make them work well, anyone can! Great recipe!!!! Update (06/12): I'm still using this recipe and it's one of my favorites to date :) These work for all occasions and always come out perfectly. This is the only sugar cookie recipe I use now, and will continue to keep using. Thanks again for the great recipe!
