Linda's Monster Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2006
My girlfriend has begged me to never make these cookies again as she loved them SO much. I substituted the butter for peanut butter, added 1/3 cup coconut, 1 cup peanut butter chips, 1 cup chopped walnuts. Everything else I kept the same and our family raved about them.

Apple-Raisin French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2006
This was pretty bland and the kids had to add syrup to even touch it. I do not think I will make it again. It did not make a whole lot of servings and I used more eggs and time than if I had just made the french toast traditionally.

White Chili I

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2006
I am giving this recipe five stars because it was a good jumping point for a white chili. I did not follow this recipe exact...I used ground turkey instead of chicken cubes because I usually use ground beef in my regular chili. I also seasoned the turkey with poultry seasoning, garlic powder, white pepper and cayenne. I did not drain the beans (which were white northern)and I added a bit of flour to thicken. In addition I added some shredded mont jack cheese and pepper jack cheese to thicken. I added crushed red pepper and white pepper to the dish. Then I let it all simmer about 30 minutes. All in all the meal came out with a bite and thick just like chili and quite delicious!

Basil Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2006
I followed the recipe exactly but my family felt these were too mustardy tasting. They are not fans of any type of mustard except honey mustard...so I do not think I will make them again or else I will alter the recipe.

Grilled Delmonico Steaks

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2006
These were very good, seasoned so much that you do not even need steak sauce when eating. I did not think that they moistened the steak up however and I left the salt out all together because I know it can toughen steak. Of course it could be because we cooked the steaks on the grill. Despite this we will definately make them again with all different cuts of meat!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2006
My family enjoyed this recipe very much. I had to omit the green peppers and onions for family member preference but I used onion powder in place of onions. I also omitted the brown sugar and used Famous Dave's Sweet and Sassy BBQ Sauce. I do not think we will ever go back to Manwich again.

Sesame Shrimp Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2006
I only made the shrimp part of this meal and mixed it with water chestnuts. Changes I made include less cayenne pepper so it would not be overly spicy and I cooked the shrimp in veg. oil because sesame oil burns easily. I also mixed the dry ingredients up the night before and added a tiny bit of the sesame oil mixed it around and coated the shrimp to marinate it overnight. My family raved about the shrimp and I am sure we will have it again.

Grilled Beef Tenderloin with Herb-Garlic-Pepper Coating

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2006
This was ok, we made it with steaks instead of a roast...I am not sure if the cut really makes the difference. My daughter liked it though and she is a picky eater.

Mozzarella Puffs

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2006
My family loved these, including my nine year old who swears she hates cheese. We did not put the sauce on them nor did we add the oregano and they were a perfect compliment to our italian dinner. We will make again I am sure.

Fettuccine Alfredo V

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2006
I just made the alfredo sauce to broil shrimp in but I had to save some over for the pasta after I snuck a taste of the sauce. This is without a doubt the ABSOLUTE best alfredo sauce I ever ate...I personally think alfredo sauce is tricky though simplistic to make and the flavor is not always right but this is perfect. I made one change and I used dried minced garlic instead of fresh minced garlic as this is what I had on hand. Perfect recipe, thanks for sharing.
