Best Ever Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
1 dip into flour, 2 dips into Panko breadcrumbs, then fried in a smaller amount half chili oil/half veggie oil. Tasted delicious, but could have been spicier. Add chili powder to cream chese mixture next time.

Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
Used 2 1/4c flour, 1 tsp ginger, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp ground cloves. Try brown sugar instead of white, and you can always use half whole wheat flour/ half white flour. Don't press them down with a glass- the cookies end up too flat.

Used 1 1/2 c sugar, 1 1/2 c lemon juice and enough water to fill up a regular size juice container. LOTS of flavor!

Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2010
The classic. I used brown rice and added a tsp red curry paste (It was in the fridge. I gotta use it up sooner or later!) instead of the italian seasoning/onion pwdr/garlic pwdr. It turned out just like my mom made when we were growing up. Maybe I didn't stir the curry paste in enough? Ha ha if it's in a clump thats going to be a surprise!

Plum Clafouti

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2010
I made this with regular plums (not Italian ones) and lime zest instead of lemon. It turned out great. The flavor and texture strongly reminded me of sweet pancakes with plum syrup. Maybe that's how a clafouti is supposed to taste?

Red Lentil Curry

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
Couldn't find red lentils so I used brown boring lentils. The only kind I could find! Anyway it still turned out good, although it doesn't look beautiful. It took my lentils a little more than 20 minutes to cook. And don't skimp on the water too much when you're cooking them.

I made this with some half and half and almond milk instead of the normal milk. Still turned out good! Nice and flat just like I like them:)

Hot and Spicy Pecans

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
A little overwhelming a first (although that could have been due to the massive amounts of salt I put in them) these mellowed out after a day or two to be absolutely delicious!

Pumpkin Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
Made with canned butternut squash instead of pumpkin. Good but not amazing. . . I just don't love anything with squash or pumpkin in it!

Oven Barbecued Beef Brisket I

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
I did this with about 2 lbs brisket and the cooking times didn't seem right, even thought I had adjusted them. So I cooked it for a little longer and everything turned out alright.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
I'm not really a huge fan of tilapia, and I didn't think this recipe was too good. I guess I should give up trying to like it and stick to real fish.

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
Yum! And very different from my family's classic recipe of tuna-mayo-mustard-pickles-celery. Which is a great basic but this is more of a gourmet twist but with things you probably already have on hand.

Good! Especially as a side for a soup or a hearty winter meal. Not quite a stand alone item.

Chicken with Asparagus and Roasted Red Peppers

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
Way better than I expected. I didn't have any tomatoes, used way more garlic and asparagus than called for but it was still great. Edit- nothing exciting actually. It didn't reheat well.
