Sun Dried Tomato Focaccia

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
I used this recipe to create a basic focaccia dough which I then topped with sugar to create focaccia dolce. Simply fantastic - super easy to make! THANKS!!!

Chewy Chocolate Cookies I

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
I wish I had read some of the reviews here before trying out the recipe. My cookies came out really flat! Having said that, I'll still make them again (with more flour to make them stay fat and thick) because it was real simple and delicious! Super chocolately!

Chocolate Surprise Cupcakes

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
I just made these last night and they're yummy! However, I didn't expect the batter to be so runny and kept mixing (for fear of loads of flour unmixed at the bottom of the mixing bowl). I think that might have contributed to a less fluffy and light cupcake. The chocolate flavour however was fab! The cheese filling seemed a little too much - I had to put less than a tablespoon of the filling into each cupcake.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
This is the only cinnamon roll recipe I've tried so far cos it's so easy to make! However, is it only me who finds the dough a little too soft to handle? I have difficulty transferring the cut rolls from mat to tray!

Grilled Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
Nothing gets any easier than this recipe! Absolutely yummy and easy to tweak. Sometimes I add herbs, sometimes I use mayonnaise instead of butter. Sometimes I add cheese on top.

Shrimp Avocado Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
I love shrimps, avocado and pasta. What better recipe to try than this?! It was pretty good even without the cheese (lactose intolerant). Man... I could eat this all day!

Garlic Prawns

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
I omitted the orange juice and mustard because I didn't have them on hand, but the recipe still went well. I added more herbs cos I like the smell and taste of basil. It was a fairly good recipe, just that I prefer a milky sauce (like those I've tried in Perth).

Herb Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
I admit: I hardly follow a recipe once I've mastered it, often adding a little bit of this and that to make it better. I often make roasted veges, using this as my base recipe. I omit the lemon juice and use a lot of dried herbs instead (oregano, basil and sometimes, paprika to add some spice). I also like to mix the veges in the herb oil mixture before spreading them on the roasting pan, just to make sure that the veges are evenly coated. Yummy roasted veges!!

Ground Beef Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
I remember using this recipe when I invited a friend over for dinner a couple of years ago (yes, it's been that long since I made shepherd's pie cos my family doesn't take beef). I used both canned tomato paste (or puree works too) and fresh chopped tomatoes to add a little more moisture to the beef. I also cooked the beef mixture a while longer than the recipe calls for as it was still pretty raw. As for the mash potato, try using milk instead of water to give it a creamy texture. It was divine!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2007
Sis & I love this recipe! It's so easy to make, and it tastes wonderful! I've made this over and over again. Failproof recipe. PS: I had my butter turned clumpy once when I added it to the milk mixture, but still went ahead with the whole recipe anyway, and my pancakes taste pretty good too!

Creamy Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2007
this is like the best mushroom soup recipe i ever tried! rich, creamy and full of flavour. mushrooms can easily be substituted with brown or white button mushrooms, if portobello are too expensive, or not available. i prefer to puree the soup after it's done to give it a smoother finish.

Honey Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2006
I tried this recipe tonight, adding a little bit more cornstarch and honey to sweeten and thicken it. Turned out pretty alright, pudding was firm but still wobbly texture. Sweetness was just right. Would definitely try it again, perhaps with cocoa powder!
