About this Cook
Married to the same wonderful man for 43 years so I have to have more than a few favorites. I used to try everything but MS limits my energy. C'est la vie.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgivings are looked forward to by the whole extended family. It's worth it only once a year, right?
My cooking triumphs
Sounds like bragging, I know, but it's almost everything I cook. Recipes are just the springboard. I love certain flavors and like to tweak recipes to make them my own.
My cooking tragedies
When first married I presented my husband with roast chicken which he promptly told me was 'not cooked'. After sampling his mother's "cooked to death" chicken I knew why. Oh well, don't fight it. Get your m-i-l's recipes and make them yours. My m-i-l eventually lived with us for 20 years so it was good strategy on my part. I fell in love with her and she with me. We made a great team.

Serbian Ground Beef, Veggie, and Potato Bake
I noticed the comment about throwing away limp celery. Non,non, non, au contraire, just cut into lengths that will cover with water, a glass or measuring cup. Put it fridge until crisp once again. I don't know how wilted it has to be before it will not come back to life but if it's black THEN don't even try

Melt In Your Mouth Pork Chops
I wonder if the tough chops are caused by cooking on too high a heat? Just a thought.

Lavender Tea Bread
I loved this recipe and the pictures you had about the mint. A girl after my own heart. Living in Portland I know it grows like weeds.
