Paprika Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2007
I thought it was ok, the pork needed the sourkraut with it because the pork by itself was really bland. My husband didn't care for it because he doesn't like the strong sourkraut flavor.

Herbed Rice and Spicy Black Bean Salad

Only make as much as is needed because as leftovers it's not nearly as good.

Grilled Tilapia with Mango Salsa

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
Really good fish. We has too much mango salsa but it was good the next day once we bought some tortilla chips.

Cajun Seafood Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2008
excellent recipe! I used frozen shrimp and scallops and it helped thin out the sauce a bit.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
Although it was a little sweeter than your traditional roasts it was very good. Our roast got a little dry because we let it cook about an hour extra with the gravy it was excellent. We made our gravy with some water and cornstarch instead of the butter and flour suggested in the recipe. We're trying to eat healthier.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
excellent fish. Next time I'm going to reduce the amount of butter a little. But my husband who is a very picky fish eater said that he'd be willing to have it once a week.

very good, but my family thought it was just good so I had to give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Fettuccine with Sweet Pepper-Cayenne Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
This is a pretty good recipe. It was too spicy for my kids but my husband and I loved it. My husband suggested that maybe adding some peas to it would be just enough to tone it down for the kids. Next time I'm going to try this. I also added some grilled chicken.

Amazing Italian Lemon Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
My husband liked it as is, but I think the flavor of the capers was a bit strong so next time I'm going to decrease the amount of capers to probably 2oz and add 1 or 2 diced roma tomatoes to add a little color and counter the caper flavor. Otherwise this was an excellent recipe.

Brazilian Black Bean Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
This recipe was excellent. My husband isn't a big fan of sweet potatoes so he told me next time to add a little bit less but I thought it was great the way it was. The chorizo adds a lot of flavor to the sweet potatoes so even if you are someone who doesn't normally like the taste of them you can still get the nutritional benefits from them by eating them in this stew.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
these are really good. I used a bag of frozen cooked shrimp and added just a bit more of all the sauce ingredients to keep the same flavor even with the water accumulated from the thawing of the shrimp. I was glad I did this because it made some extra sauce, which was nice to put over rice. Next time I will double (or triple the recipe so that I'll have some leftovers to take for lunch the next day. Saying that this recipe serves 4 is that it makes about 4 half cup servings of shrimp that can be served over rice. If you normally eat more than a half a cup of shrimp over a half a cup of rice than I'd suggest doubling the recipe. It's a great recipe and I suggest everyone try it at least once.

Salmon with Creamy Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
This was very good. My salmon filet was still a little frozen when I through it in the oven so it had to cook a little bit longer than the recipe said. Overall, the flavors were wonderful and the sauce was a nice match.

Shrimp and Crab Enchiladas

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
These were very good. My husband suggested next time trying them with chicken instead of shrimp and crab. I made a couple small changes. I added about 3 tablespoons of sour cream and a small can of diced green chilies and mixed them together with the cheese, shrimp, and crab prior to putting it into the tortilla. Otherwise everything else was the same.

Peking Pork Chops

even with low sodium soy sauce it was too salty for my tastes. Next time I'd use half soy sauce and half teriyaki sauce.

excellent recipe. Leftovers even warm up well the next day. It seemed like the flavor got stronger sitting in the fridge overnight.

Steak and Rice

really good recipe but next time I'd probably use a more tender cut of beef or pound it down a bit to let the flavors soak into the meat more. I will make this again.

I thought it was excellent and my 2 and 5yr old's ate it pretty well (probably because of the pineapple). My husband said maybe add a dash of oyster sauce but otherwise it was good.

This was an ok recipe. It was pretty bland though. I added some sour cream to supplement the flavor. It was really good with the corned beef roast.

Creamy Apple Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
This was just an ok apple pie recipe. I didn't think there was anything really special about it though. Maybe adding some caramel ice cream topping over the top would give it a little more zing.
