Smoked Salmon Pesto Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
I added 2 cans of diced tomatoes used 3 times as much salmon. I also didn't use smoked salmon as it's too salty, I just bought frozen and baked it in olive oil, lemon juice, and a little garlic powder. That being said, this turned out great. I was kind of worried about salmon with tomato paste and pesto, but it all works great together. Thanks!

Laura's Quick Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2007
I've made this several times and I love it! I'm not a chili pro though. The only thing I change is to add about a cup of beef broth to the meat when browning it to give it some beef flavor. I drain it off before putting in the cooker.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
Just echoing what others have said about it being too dry. I read the reviews so I added almost triple the broth and also 2/3 cup half-n-half. Then, thinking of the warnings, I had a can of cream of chicken soup and a can of cream of mushroom soup in the cupboard, threw them in too. Turned out great! I have the feeling it would have been a waste of time without the extras. The reviews are my favorite thing about this site!!!

Asian Tuna Patties

Reviewed: May 5, 2007
I used salmon instead of tuna because it's what I had in the pantry. Much improvement on regular salmon patties. I'll be doing this from now on when making them. Thanks!

Creamy Dill Salmon Steaks

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2007
I loved this. Smelled great cooking too. Nice dill flavor (although I doubled it) w/o overpowering the fish at all. Will make again.

Crab Stuffed Mushrooms II

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2007
I used about 1/2 cup green onions no pimentos or water chestnuts. I put a litle parm cheese in the crab mix while cooking it plus a healthy amount of garlic and onion powders. I also used some sesame oil in the bottom of the baking dish along with several pats of butter. Had to drain it after about 35 minutes in the oven at 325 covered, finished it off for 10 minutes under the broiler at 400 to give it some brown. I loved these! This recipe was a great place to start for me. Careful with the dijon mustard though...

Hearty Bean Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2006
Finished it was a 5. But I found that there wasn't enough raux for my liking so I tripled it (though to be fair I added more veggies so...). I also doubled, or more, the sesame oil. REALLY good once you play with it a little to get it how you like it.

Salmon Fillets with Creamy Dill

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2006
Loved this. I doubled the dill and the basil and only used 1 cup of mayo. I also ended up with too much sauce, even after a liberal coating all around the salmon and using double the salmon. And my sauce didn't turn to liquid as some have said, although I used a pan that could drain, not a cookie sheet....
