Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2012
A ketchup based gravy was not what I was looking for. However, the base part of the recipe is awesome. As for the gravy, I have found that it's better to use an additional can of French onion soup and make the gravy from that. If gives a beefy-er, onion-er flavor that is much more complementary of the dish.

Microwave Peanut Brittle

Probably one of the best microwave versions of the recipe I have found. Don't be afraid to substitute honey for corn syrup, if you feel so bold.

Caramels

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2010
I really liked the flavor of the caramels, but I believe that I made a mistake. When the mixture hit 250F, I pulled it from the heat, leaving me with rather soft caramels that were actually really suitable for sweetening coffee.

Roasted Potatoes and Apples

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2010
I found this to be an interesting dish, however, I believe the key to making this taste good is the type of apple. If you want to make this, use a sweet and firm apple, like a Pacific Rose. Red or Golden delicious will turn to mush and Granny Smiths are too tart for a savory dish. To bring the potatoes and apples together, I also added onion and rather than using olive oil, I used peanut oil.
