I am a southern girl, started cooking before I was tall enough to see the counter.I used to climb in a chair to help my grandmother prepare meals.I come from a long line of wonderful cooks,I guess that's what we southerns do best.We cook for everything!I have worked under some very talented chef's starting at the age of eightteen, my favorite was a chef who had work for Commander's Palace in New Orleans.I learned alot from him and I now cook for private parties and events for the elite.
My favorite things to cook
I do not have a favorite personally, my most request items are:Lemon chiffon cake with fresh lemon curd.Beef with a red wine reduction, and Dogwood blossom soup.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love baking cookies, candies, and breads for the holiday's and giving them away to friends and coworkers.I star about two weeks before christmas preparing.
My cooking triumphs
The only thing I didn't know how to do was decorate cakes.so I took some classes and worked with local bakeries and learned this skill and turns out I am a pretty good cake decorator.
My cooking tragedies
I once made a blueberry cheesecake for a board of the city and I accidentally put salt in the place of sugar. The cheesecake was so salty you couldn't eat it! I was so embarrased, luckly I had been cooking their lunch for about a year so they didn't fire me as their caterer.
