Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2011
Great soup, even my picky kids ate it! Followed another reviewer and added the whole rotisserie chicken to the pot, simmered with everything but the noodles for about 20 minutes. Added the noodles and took the chicken out and shredded it. Simmered for another 10 minutes. Great recipe!

Porcupine Meatballs III

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
These were great. The only thing I changed was using 1 Tbsp of onion powder because my kids will spend the whole meal picking out onion pieces. Added some garlic to the meatball mix also. Whole family ate them which is a huge success!

Forgotten Party Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2010
These were perfect! I made them once as is and thought they were a little too sweet, so the next time I put a little more than half a cup of sugar. Everyone in the family loved them!

Tex-Mex Bake

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
Made it almost exactly as the recipe, just added taco seasoning to the meat and only used probably a cup of cheese all together. Everyone really liked it!

Pork Chops with Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
This is a keeper! Followed the recipe except used blackberry jam and balsamic vinegar. Kids liked it, parents liked it, no leftovers. I did have to cook the pork a little longer in the pan because I used some pretty thick loin chops. Thanks!

Corn Bread Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
I was looking for something different so I tried this. My husband and I and our 7 year old gave it a thumbs up, but my 5 year old did not like it. I made rice along with the corn bread and it was good on top of that. I didn't add the chilis and we didn't have any corn, but it was still really good. We will make again!

House Fried Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
I've never made fried rice before so this was a new adventure. It was really really good! I cooked and cooled the rice in the fridge. I then fried up the onions (white and green) and garlic together until brown with 2T of sesame oil, 1T olive oil. Added carrots, chicken and ham. Fried it up until it popped alot. Added soy sauce. Stirred it into the cooled rice. Added two eggs to the pan and cooked. Added that to the rice. Waited until we were ready to eat and then put the whole thing back in the pan to heat up. We were also having mandarin oranges so I added a little of the juice to it. I served it with General Tso chicken from the hot deli at the store. My husband and I loved it, kids not so much. More for us!

Sweet Mustard Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2007
Thank you, thank you! I was starting to think I was a really really bad cook. My last 4 new recipes were horrible. This was one of the best chicken recipes we've ever had. Perfect. We used about half the butter and basted about every 15 minutes. Took just minutes to put together. Definitely a keeper!

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
I used SLJ6's suggestions and roasted the squash and used apple cider and an apple in the mix. Added some fat free half and half at the end. Didn't use the marjoram or cream cheese, but did use the cayenne and black pepper. Turned out great!!

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2006
This turned out great even though I cheated and used instant mashed potatoes and canned peas and carrots. Also added more ketchup because we like more tomato flavor. It was great!
