Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
I used more sugar than the recipe called for. It turned out beautiful. Insanely sweet, but easy to use after refrigerating. I followed another review and omitted the butter, I probably would have needed way more sugar then.

Onion Chicken in Balsamic Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
I never measure anything so I eyeballed the recipe and used breasts instead of legs. My husband loved it. I think next time I will add basil as another reviewer suggested. The chicken was really moist and the sauce was delish!

Tomato Basil Soup II

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
I was surprised how good this was for limited ingredients and effort. I was looking for a good way to use up the tomatoes and basil in the garden and this was great on a hot summer night with a fresh baguette. FRESH BASIL is a MUST. Don't even bother with this recipe if you don't have it. I also cut back on the oil.

Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2007
I printed this out for everyone in the office. I used chicken stock and eyeballed everything. I used turkey kielbasa because it was buy 1 get 2 free and I cooked it on low for 10 hours becuause I set it in the morning and went to work. It was delicious (my husband had 3 bowls!) nutritious, and cheap to make! Thank you so much for this recipe

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2007
My first SUCCESSFULL pie crust! I tried pie crust once upon a time and don't really remember what went wrong but this was perfect instructions! I did use butter instead of shortening because I didn't have any on hand. My husband was very impressed. I'm hoping now he doesn't expect me to bake all the time...

Buttermilk Pie III

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2007
I had leftover buttermilk from an Irish soda bread for St. Patrick's Day and searched for buttermilk recipes. TGhis was my first introducation to buttermilk pie. Great recipe. I also made my first successfull pie crust and the filling fit perfectly. I followed the temp and cooking time and it was golden brown with a thin, sweet and crisp top to the pie. I did use lowfat buttermilk so I dissolved 1 tsp. of cornstarch in the buttermilk before adding it. I really want to try it with egg beaters and margarine but I'm sure it won't be the same. My husband LOVES LOVES LOVES this recipe just as it is. Thanks for sharing!

Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2007
I have never rated a recipe before now. In the words of Rachel Ray - Yum-O! It's St. Patrick's Day and I wanted to make a soda bread and searched for a recipe. The only addition I made was brushing melted butter over the top before baking. The crust was very crunchy and inside was perfect (sometimes my breads are a little raw in the middle) Two thumbs up! Thanks! - I've made this many times since this review and the golden raisins do make a nice difference
