Best Ever Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2000
We love a lot of seasoning in our food, and I found that doubling the amount of salt and pepper, and adding half a teaspoon of italian herbs enhanced this recipe.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2000
Thanks for sharing this recipe. My husband, a big apple pie fan, can't get over it! We could only fit 5-6 apples, though. We also added a teaspoon of cinammon to the syrup and it went very well.

Awesome Tangerine-Glazed Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2000
Used this recipe for our very first Christmas turkey dinner (we're newlyweds). My mother-in-law was impressed. The directions, as written, are not that easy to understand though.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

I tried it with pork sausage and dried apricots, and it came out lovely! My husband can't get enough of it. Very easy to make too.

Giblet Gravy I

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2000
First time I had to make giblet gravy. I had to add more corn starch than the recipe called for since my family is used to thicker gravy. And the chopped egg whites weirded out some of my family so I think I'll just use the yolks next time. Came out really flavorful though, and will use it again.

Classic Fish and Chips

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2001
The batter was a little too runny and delicate for frying. I added 1/3 cup more of flour to make it thicker. Also, I think you can get away with only half the amount of salt. In fact, we found it too salty with the listed amount of salt. Lastly, a quarter cup of oil to fry with is not enough. You have to have more so the fillets can float a little bit and not get ruined at turning.

Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2001
Really easy to make. I put in some extra virgin olive oil while browning the beef, more or less doubled the amount of salt, pepper and Wostershire sauce and then added some garlic powder in the end. Was really great on top of mashed potatoes.

We live 40 minutes from Hammonton,NJ - World's Blueberry Capital. The beautiful berries we picked ourselves went into real good use with this pie recipe. We used extra conrstarch as well, as some of the reviews indicated.

Blueberry Bread I

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2001
Very "clean" taste - the blueberry flavor is very well emphasized, not too sweet. Great hot off the oven, but even better the following day.

Pesto Sauce

The proportion of ingredients were perfect! And its a relief to know that the more affordable walnut can be used instead of the rather expensive pine nut without casualty. Thanks.

Baked Dijon Salmon

Exceptionally good! Did not have honey and pecans in my pantry, so I ended up using white sugar and walnuts (respectively, using the same measurements). Can't wait to make it again.

A bit on the bland side - but probably good served with a strong-flavored dish.
