About this Cook
I'm 57, a stay-at-home wife, aka "domestic goddess" who enjoys cooking, baking, collecting cookbooks, reading books about the paranormal, and blogging. My 3 all-time favorite cookbooks are: Betty Crocker's 1973 Cookbook, 1976 Campbell Cookbook (Cooking with Soup) and 1979 Pillsbury Kitchens' Family Cookbook. I actually have been a member of this site since the late 90's, and have posted a few recipes, but under my real name.
My favorite things to cook
Soups, catalina barbecued ribs, maple glazed ribs, bbq’s, meatloaf, meatball dishes, oven barbecued chicken, breaded ranch chicken, lemon chicken, buffalo wings, cola pork roast, pork chops, hot pork sandwiches, venison, egg rolls, lasagna, stuffed manicotti, bacon-liver-and-onions, chili liver, hot dishes, casseroles, baked beans, brats with sauerkraut, wedding dumplings, scalloped potatoes, au gratin potatoes, german potato salad, pasta salads, layered vegetable salads, gelatin salads, cucumber salads, iced coffees, iced teas, anything with rhubarb, bundt cakes, and other desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making egg rolls with my daughters.
My cooking triumphs
Many of my recipes have been pulished in our city's Buyer's Guide Cookbooks, our church cookbook, our city's newspaper, and my recipe for Peanut Butter Cut-Out Cookies, has been published in The Taste of Home 2004 Christmas Cookbook, as well as the Country Woman's 2003 Christmas Cookbook. My recipe for Pasta Carbonara, was published in the May/June 2009 issue of Taste of Home Simple & Delicious Magazine, plus my crock-pot recipe, Cream of Potato & Cheddar Soup, was published in the Taste of Home Simple & Delicious Magazine (April/May 2012 issue).

Popa's Pickled Eggs
While my husband thought these pickled eggs were ok, I on the other hand did not like them.

Apple-Raspberry Crisp
Since posting this recipe, I see there was an error to the pan size I used to make this desert. Be sure to use an 8x8-inch baking pan. (Mine was also a Teflon coated pan.) Also, when mixing the brown sugar with the tablespoon of flour, be sure to just use a 1/2 cup of the sugar. Mix the remaining 1/2 cup of brown sugar along with the oats, the 1/2 cup of flour, the cinnamon, and salt. Continue preparing the recipe by adding in the melted butter, and stir until mixture is crumbly. After baking the desert, I let it sit to cool for (about) 1 to 1-1/2 hours. This desert can also be served with vanilla ice cream or with Cool Whip or Reddi Wip Whipped Topping. This recipe yields: 1-8x8 inch dish, or 5-6 servings. One more thing... you can substitute quick oats for the old fashioned oats, and about the apples, be sure to use 2-1/2 lbs. of Granny Smith Apples.

Scrambled Eggs Done Right
While I liked the eggs, my husband wasn't all that impressed. I used Kraft Mayonnaise in the recipe, and my hubby said to leave out the water, but I did make them with the water, and didn't tell my hubby I added it. I asked my husband what he thought of the eggs, and he said they were ok, but not great, and he'd prefer I make them the usual way, by just adding milk. I will make them again, and replace the water with milk, as I am curious to see how they will turn out. All around, this is not a bad recipe, and I don't think it deserves 3 stars or less. For those who are starting out in making scrambled eggs for the first time, I think this is the perfect recipe to try.
