About this Cook
I am a designer in New York City. I love photographing food and then eating it. :D I have ran 2 marathons and am training for my third this year.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking anything and everything from cakes and cookies to bread and pastry.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a Jewish family, but since I am a a vegetarian, I don't eat half the stuff that is traditional. Instead, I love cooking recipes from other cultures, mostly Middle Eastern and Asian.
My cooking triumphs
This past year I baked 8 kinds of cookies and 2 loaves of babka in my tiny tiny NYC oven that only has one rack. They all turned out delicious. :D
My cooking tragedies
My first attempt at baking Challah bread was awful. They turned out soggy and underbaked. I also had a difficult time preparing eggplant rollatini for my boyfriend...the first time I cooked for him. It was very embarassing.

Chocolate Mint Cookies I
These were some of the best cookies I have ever made and I bake quite a lot. I followed the instructions to a T and they came out perfect. Very moist and chocolaty and the Andes Candies on top were amazing. Definitely will make again!

I made these this past weekend. Oh my god. 48 cookies gone in 2 days! They were a huge hit. I added some mini chocolate chips in and cut down on the amount of walnuts and raisins to compensate. I also sprinkled the tops with cinnamon and sugar as suggested. They were moist and flaky. I will definitely make these again!

Banana Crumb Muffins
I have made these twice now, and people are telling me I should sell them...the cake part is sooo soft and can see the black threads of the banana. They smell amazing. And the crumb topping is wonderful. If you are reading this, go out and make them!
