Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
Let me start by saying this does need more seasoning than the recipe indicates. However, It is really good! It's very fresh tasting and lighter than most chili recipes. I love that you don't feel gross after eating it - you can actually taste the beans and corn. I followed the recipe, but also added more chili powder, lots of salt and pepper, a bit of cayenne and hot sauce for heat and I cooked it for 4 hours. I also added fresh parsley on top - YUM!

Millet Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2006
I really love this recipe. I add extra millet for the crunch. It works perfectly as is, and also doubles very well. My kids eat these faster than I can make them, and it's so healthy for them, I don't mind at all! No white sugar and white flour, plus the extra nutrition of the millet make these great, but the really great thing is that they are very delicious!

Pumpkin Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2004
This is absolutely awesome. I add a pinch of cloves and grate some fresh nutmeg in. Very moist, very smooth - it's amazing with the cream cheese frosting (from JJ) on this site.

White Chocolate Blondies

Reviewed: May 6, 2004
These are fabulous! A few tips I learned after making these a few times: Use good chocolate, not the chips you find in the grocery store. (This makes the texture and flavor perfect) I get real white chocolate from my chocolate store. Also, it's better if they are completely cooled, even chilled, before you try to cut them. I make them the night before, let them set really good, and cut them the next day. They are perfect the next day. Cut them small! They are very rich, but awesome. I bring them to family gatherings and they are the first to disappear.

German Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2003
This is absolutely fabulous. I have been through many german chocolate cake recipes (hubby's favorite) and this one blows away all others. It's light and fluffy - not heavy and the chocolate on top not only makes a great presentation but adds a great flavor. Excellent!

Chinese Napa Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2003
This salad is very easy to make, especially if you have a food processer that will shred the cabbage. It only took a few minutes and it was absolutely yummy! I recommend not adding the ramen mixture until the very last minute or the ramen noodles will soften.

Very tasty - but my 3 year old wouldn't eat it. She did like the chicken, however. My husband and I both liked it - it's a great summer meal.

Ten Minute Szechuan Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2002
Very strong taste - too salty or maybe too much garlic- I saw that the instructions say to add sugar but it wasn't listed with the ingredients. Maybe this would have made a difference.

King Ranch Chicken Casserole I

Love the different tastes, it's quick and easy to make and my kids like it, but the corn tortillas become a little rough and hard to eat. It may work better with tortilla chips. I'll try that next time!
