About this Cook
I just love to cook. And bake. I enjoy doing the food for all of our family holidays, as my Grandma is no longer with us, I'm honored to take the reigns, and I'm getting pretty good at it!
My favorite things to cook
Anything new. I love to try different cuisines, and have been trying my hand at asian food most recently. I love to bake. That is what I do best, and my family loves for me to make my apple pie or french silk. I love to make anything from my basic yummy italian sandwiches to fancier more involved stuff.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Grandma always made everyone's favorite all the time. If you had a weird craving you asked Grandma if you could come over for dinner, which everyone did anyway, and request exactly what you want before you arrive. I want to be that member of the family now that she's gone, the person who can comfort food everyone all better!
My cooking triumphs
The first time I mastered the apple pie. My first one I had trouble with the crust, then I had a soupy pie. But then on my third pie it was perfect. This is something that my family is fighting to get my recipe for, as I have my own not copied from sister in law swears since I won't tell her the recipe needs to go into my will!
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list! I've def had things that come out less then desireable, but I always get it eventually. I'm not that great a making gravies, that's probably my one constant challenge.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches
These were okay. Lot of vinegar flavor (duh, I know) but I feel like it needed something else to cut it and it would be delicious. Maybe cream cheese? I'm not sure, they were good and super easy so I will fiddle with them a bit more.

Easy Apple Coleslaw
This was DELICIOUS. And refreshing, and crunchy, and just wonderful. Used a little more cabbage because the dressing was sweet and went a long way, used prepackaged cabbage/carrot mix and left out the bell pepper as I am not a fan. But other than that it was awesome, and everyone loved it.

Apple Butter Pork Loin
Very good. The meat had a nice flavor all the way through and turned out very tender.
