Cream Of Carrot Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2013
Made this for my picky kids and they ate it! (I personally really liked it). I have a hand blender which makes this such an easy soup to make. Used half and half cream (because that's all I had) and it still worked. The next day I didn't have enough to go around so I added a can of tomato soup to make it stretch...so good! Great recipe...it's going in my meal planning rotation.

Caesar Salad Supreme

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2008
I just use the dressing from this recipe and it's our favorite. I leave out the anchovies and it's great. We also only use 2 cloves garlic (I shred it using the smallest shredding size on the grater) and that's plenty garlic for us. Maybe shredding it brings out more potency? Anyways - the best. Thanks for the recipe.

Julia's Easy Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
The family enjoyed this...so did I because it's so easy. I used a small packet of chicken boullion instead of dry onion soup mix because that's what I had on hand. To get the onion flavor I added one medium chopped onion. I also left out the potatoes so I could make mashed potatoes. And I used 3/4 can water 1/4 can milk instead. Very tasty over mashed potatoes...this one is a keeper for us! Thanks for sharing.

Nanaimo Bars III

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
These were delicious. Here's a tip for beginners. Don't add the egg to the saucepan...if it's too warm the egg will CURDLE. My mom told me to slowly beat about half of the chocolate mixture into the egg, a little at a time, so that it won't curdle from the heat. Hope this helps, thanks for the great recipe, I will make again for sure!

Bar Cookies from Cake Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2007
These turned out great. I used white cake mix and half milk chocolate chips. I only had a 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk and it still turned out great. In appearance they reminded me off the Oat Fudge bar from Starbucks b/c I dropped the remaining batter in little spoonfuls so a lot more of the chocolate was showing. Very easy, will make again, great for when cake mixes are on sale! *Update - sorry! I rated the wrong recipe..."Can't Leave Alone Bars" from this site is what I made a rated...my apologies*

Simply Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
I'm giving this 5 stars b/c of how easy it was and how good it turned out. This was my first time making lasagna, I was nervous about not cooking the noodles but they turned out perfect. I used cottage cheese and blended it instead of ricotta, otherwise I followed pretty closely to the recipe. However for personal taste I would like to add more tomatoes, sauce, perhaps mushrooms, green peppers next time. But for a first timer and a "simple" lasagna this was perfect. Thank-you very much for the recipe.

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2007
Really good. I followed the advice of reviewer AIGEL3 at the bottom of the recipe page. Melt the butter and a tbsp of vanilla. I just had regular, and I used half butter half shortening. They turned out great. I left out some of the choc. chips, they probably get such good reviews b/c there is 2 cups of chips rather than the standard 1 cup! Milk chocolate chips - my husbands favorite.

Banana Muffins with a Crunch

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2007
I made a few changes, I am sure the original is even better. I didn't have granola, left out coconut, used one cup whole wheat flour and halved the sugar. They turned out great, and I added milk chocolate chips and a few raisins. Thanks for the great base recipe. I also like that it makes 24 muffins rather than just 12.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2007
This bread was easy to make and turned out great. I halved the sugar per our taste, and used all purpose flour (I don't know what the difference is). Not too dense, light yet full. Thank you for a great recipe.

Fruit Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
I had raspberry, strawberry and apricot jams that needed to be finished off, so I tried this recipe. It came out a little crumbly, so I decided to cut them in squares and wrapped them in plastic wrap and put them in the freezer. They taste great out of the freezer, the jam is chewy. I also added walnuts to the oat mixture which is really good too. Good recipe if you need to use up extra jam!

Poppy Seed and Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
I made these according to what I had on hand. They are very good and not too sweet which I like. I didn't have wheat germ so I left that out. I filled my lacking 1 cup of bananas to the top with yogurt and cut the poppyseeds in half. I added raisins and that tastes good too because it adds some sweetness. They turned out moist for me, probably because I left out the wheat germ. I will be making these again, thanks for the great recipe!

Zesty Chicken and Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2006
This was really good and easy. I added some mediterranean and sundried salad dressing. I also didn't used the rosemary because I didn't have it. I added carrots and extra garlic. My husband was unsure when I was making it, but really enjoyed it. Thanks for the recipe :)

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2006
These aren't exactly what I was looking for. I don't know what I did wrong, but they are a little too cake-like for me. They taste good, but not as gooey and chewy as I'd hoped. Maybe next time I'll try butter and baking them less than 20 minutes. Thanks :)

Lower Fat Banana Bread II

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2006
This is really good and moist. Substituted brown for white sugar, whole wheat flour for white, used all the vanilla required, 3 bananas and put a few choc chips and walnuts in. I'll make this again...it's good and healthy.

I cut up my own veggies and added celery. My husband said it was great but next time we should add raisins! This is a good, simple recipe.

Blueberry Sauce

I used less sugar, more berries and vanilla instead of almond extract. It was very tasty. We enjoyed it on pancakes and as a dessert topping. Great recipe!
