Rhubarb Fool

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2008
Easy and tasty, but doesn't really set up on its own--it could just as easily be rhubarb topped with whipped cream.

Stir and Drop Sugar Cookies II

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2005
These are pretty good, and very easy and quick to make. I imagine they'd be good with frosting, for those who like a sweeter cookie. One thing, though: I'm not sure why these are described as "delicate brown sugar cookies." Mine were neither brown nor delicate--rather, they were puffy drop sugar cookies of the usual kind. Perhaps I was supposed to make them smaller and flatten them more?

Gypsy Chicken Stew

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2004
Simple, but good--the roasted chile gives it a bit of a kick in the back of the throat. Serve with crackers or tortilla strips--you'll get something pretty similar to most tortilla chicken soups (I mean that as a compliment). You could probably top with a slice of avocado and cotija cheese, too.

Grandpa McAndrew's Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2004
I used olive oil instead of margarine, and soy milk instead of the buttermilk. I also added salt, and it was pretty good! We ate almost the whole loaf right away.

Soft and Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2001
Pretty good, but very sweet--I can taste the sugar. I took the advice of my fellow cookie chefs and used only 2 eggs. If you put a little bit of jelly on while they're warm, you have peanut butter and jelly cookies.

Bobbie's Oatmeal Cookies

Used sliced dried apricots instead of chocolate chips--cookies came out big and soft, and tasty.
