Cocktail Meatballs IV

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
There is one major problem with this recipe. Its doesn't tell you what kind of chili sauce to use. I think you are suppose to use a tomato based chili sauce. The first time I made it, it was really sweet and I couldn't taste the chili sauce at all. The second time I made it I added more chili sauce and it was sooo hot. That was probably because I used "pure" chili sauce with no tomato base since the recipe didn't specify. You should use a tomato based chili sauce and add about 1 tbsp per pound of meat more than what the recipe calls for and it will be perfect. The best thing about this recipe is the mustard, it really adds something and is even better if you use an equal amount of worchestershire sauce.

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
Very good. The chicken was very tender and moist. I'm not giving it 5 stars only because the bouillon made it very salty, should probably use chicken broth instead. Also the lemon is a bit overpowering. I think 2 tbsp of lemon juice should be enough.

These were great. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because they are a bit too ketchupy.

The Best Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2011
This review might not be fair because I only used about half the amount of brown sugar the recipe calls for but I think if I had used all of it I would have hated it. I also used a little ketchup and corn starch instead of flower. They were good but I think the sauce just was not my thing but there was nothing wrong with them at all. Maybe I just don't like sweet and sour on anything other than chicken.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
First, 2 cans of biscuit dough is waaaay too much, 1 can would be better, even a half can would probably be enough. Second, after cooking for an hour and a half, the dumplings were still doughy so 30 minutes is not nearly enough. Third, there were almost no spices in the recipe. I think with a lot of adjustments this recipe could be good but as is its not sorry.

Very easy and so good. I did use beef broth because that is what I had and I used kidney beans instead of the frozen vegetable because I didn't have any but hte soup was sooooooo good.

Amish Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
Amazing. I love keeping this in the frige because I can have it any time without even having to heat it up and it tastes great just like what my grandmother use to make. This is really a classic recipe for old-fashion macaroni salad. The only changes that I made were that I didn't have the vegetables so I just mixed the "sauce" with the pasta also this recipe calls for way too much sugar so I cut the sugar down and it was still a little too sweet for some people but I loved it. Also it was a bit runny even after a night in the frige so it probably doesn't need that much mayo either.

Best Hamburger Ever

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
This has way too much dried spice in it. It didn't even taste anything like hamburgers. This amount of spices would be fine to use in a pot roast but mixed into burgers it was not good at all. I still gave it 2 stars because the concept was good and I think if you left out the dried spices these would be very good burgers. I will try it again without the spices.

Best Ever Butter Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
I don't know what went wrong, maybe I added the milk before it was completely cooled or maybe i did not beat long enough(I beat with a hand mixer on high for a REALLY long time) but it just never took the consistancy of icing. It kept seperating and had the consistancy of curds and whey. Sorry I really hate to give a bad rating.

Easy Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
The "gravey" was good although it was a little too "canned soup" tasting. But the chicken itself though very tender was bland. I cooked the rice on the side but Im certain that if the rice were cooked in the soups it would be very difficult to get it fully cooked without making it mushy.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
This was soooo good the sauce was great but the chicken was even better. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the amount of sauce is not enough for the amount of pasta and chicken and because the butter floated up to the top while baking. Maybe thats because I didn't use "real" butter. Next time I will try it without any butter and I will double the sauce recipe. I also used chicken broth instead of wine.

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2009
Well this was one of the best roasts I have ever made and the gravy came out to be the perfect amount with the perfect consistancy. The only problem I had(which was probably my fault) is that the gravy was a bit too sweet tasting. My roast was not 4 pounds maybe only 2 pounds I'm really not sure. Also I used the whole can of coke and I think that the can is more than the 10oz that the recipe calls for. But the amount of gravy was good for the amount of roast. Also I didn't use any vegetables. I didn't have a packet of gravy mix but I did have powdered gravey mix in a can so I measured that with a measuring spoon and used it. I think it depends a lot on which brands of ingredients you use. But as I mentioned above it was great and I will try to work on a tweak to reduce the sweetness.

This was excellent. It adds some taste but doesn't overpower the flavor of the actual steak. Just perfect. Thanks for a great recipe.

French Dip Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
These were soooooo good the au jus was wonderful and it was super easy to make. My grandmother had a recipe for these that is almost exactly the same but in hers she uses 1 cup of beef broth instead of 1 cube of bouillon and only 1/4 cup of soy sauce. I make both of these changes and the sandwiches were amazing, one of the best french dip sandwhiches I've ever had.

Fried Onion Rings

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
These are really really good, and I would have given them 5 stars except with only 1 cup of beer to 1 cup of flour the batter was more like dough and would not coat the onions, so i had to add at least a half cup of beer. I would also suggest adding some spies for depth but it is a great starter recipe. Thanks
