Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
BAKE THESE!!! Following another reviewers comments, I baked at 400 degrees on a wire rack, 20 min on each side. The sauce wasn't thin to me (just normal wing consistency). I used a hot sauce mixture that was half (1/8 cup) Tabasco and half (1/8 cup) Siracha hot sauce. That's all I had in the house, and it was DELICIOUS. (They tasted just like restaurant hot wings, even with the thai inspired hot sauce). I can't imagine frying them, they were crispy and greasy (in a good wing sort of way) as it was. If anything, I think you can cut the butter in the sauce a bit. Perfect with the game!

Lemon Pepper Green Beans

Very good. Could use a little more zazz, but for a green bean side dish is my favorite find so far. Be careful not to burn your almonds!

This is a great recipe! I prefer a less sweet cornbread, so I cut the sugar down to 3 tablespoons and it was perfect!

Obviously I'm not alone, this was just FANTASTIC. I used ground turkey even and it was still delicious. I added some crushed red pepper for extra spice, but tit was perfect as is.

simple, delicious, and just a hint of spice. We added some whole garlic cloves throughout to add some flavor. Perfect Sunday night meal!

Penne with Chicken and Asparagus

So quick, so easy, so tasty! I also added some mushrooms like other users, and it turned out wonderful. For something so simple, the taste was spot on. I also used real garlic instead of the powder. Definitely will make again.

This recipe is fantastic! So easy and quick, and delicious. I add some sun-dried tomatoes for a little extra flavor, but this recipe can hold its own.

Apple Breakfast Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
It was good, but not great. The texture was a little sandy, but overall a good flavor. It definately was more "muffin-y" than "bread-y". If I make again I will do as others and use half brown sugar, and half white. I would also add a little oil too, that might help the sandy texture and make it a little more moist, like a banana bread.

Soft Onion Breadsticks

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
these tasted okay, but not that great. I followed the recipe, but did not coat them in egg and add the poppy seeds or seasame seeds. They tasted like mini loaves of french bread, and didn't have that soft breadsticky consistency. For all the work, not worth the end result, I'd rather just make a normal loaf of bread. I won't make them again.

Almost No Fat Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
Great recipe, a little dry but worth it for being low fat! I'd make again, but am still looking for that perfect banana bread that's not too sweet, not too dry, doesn't burn on the edges just perfect. This was close, but not quite the one.

Southwestern Vegetarian Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
Super easy to make, adjust to whatever you have in the kitchen. I used shell pasta because it's what I had, and just threw in the whole 16 oz bag and it was still great. The flavors are excellent, home-style, quick and easy dinner that isn't too bad for you. The pepper-jack is really iceing on the cake if you can afford the calories.

Vegetarian Refried Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2007
Very easy to make while at home, just let simmer and go about your business. I cut my beans off at around 3 hours and they were fine, added some onions as well and were perfect with my spinich enchiladas! Only four stars because there wasn't anything too extra special about these beans, just home made and better for you than out of a can!

Cranberry Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
By boyfriend made this recipe for me, and it turned out so good! He's not a cook, and he didn't really chop the walnuts making them hard to shape into balls, and added the cranberry sauce to the mixture instead of using it for sauce (like I mentioned, not a cook). With all the mistakes, it still turned out excellent! Makes quite a bit of balls, and they are very rich, but a declicious treat that is fun to make and practically fool-proof. Other users mentioned that the Russian dressing was too overpowering, but I did not find this to be the case. Perhaps because we had double the cranberry sauce, one can in the mixture and one can for the sauce. I wouldn't recommend this though, the extra can in the mixture makes it too sticky to form into proper balls. All in all, 5 stars because it seems like no matter what you do throw it all together and you have a great meal for meat-eaters and vegitarians alike!

Hazel's Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2007
I loved this sauce! I didn't need that much sauce, so I halved the recipe but it definately dissapeared quickly! The cloves were a bit strong, but I was looking for a spicey sauce so it it did nicely. If your not a fan of cloves, I would cut the amount in half.

Orange Roasted Salmon

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
Overall a good recipe. I agree with another review that the orange juice at the end effectively wipes the spices on top off of the salmon, and the underside of the salmon was a little overpowering while the top was a little bland. I prefer lemons over orange slices, a little to sweet with the salmon. Easy to make though, and great presentation without much effort.
