Bourbon Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2006
Very yummy! It worked out great to do this in my crockpot using chicken breasts. However, next time I think I'll use chicken thighs...their juicier. I added a little more brown sugar and less bourbon than it called for and since I was out of dried onion I used a whole packet of onion soup mix. It was heavenly!

Sauerkraut Meatball Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2006
Thought it might be fun to try something unusual so fixed this recipe. Followed the recipe to the letter and hated it...tried to add a few thing to make it 'better'..no luck. Maybe you'll like it..We sure didn't!

Japanese Zucchini and Onions

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
Easy and delicious! The whole family slurped it all up. Didn't have teriyaki sauce but it still was a keeper. We like our zucchini well done (almost mushy) so next time I'll put it in first...then the onions last so they don't get too soggy. Nice change in using all the garden zucchini on hand right now!

Homemade Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
VERY easy! I don't cook with lard so I used Crisco instead. My family LOVED these and they were a snap to make. Not messy or difficult.

Cara's Moroccan Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
Super Yummy! I was out of lentils so I made it as written except for using them. It was DEE-licious! Very favorful and hardy. Even better for leftovers the next day. I fixed the 'homemade flour torillas' to go with them (from this site) and it was a satisfying meal.

Indian Tomato Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
I made this in the crockpot and the only thing I did different was to use boneless/skinless chicken breasts instead. It was VERY good! The spices are a blast scentation in your mouth with every bite! My family loved it! The next time I made it I added a diced carrots & celery to have more veggies. Still super!

Thai Red Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
Very good as is! Next time I added more curry since we like it with 'kick'. I've tried several different brands of red curry (and green) and the hotness factor is dependent upon the brand name. You just have to experiment to get it to your satisfaction. We eat vegan 70% of the time so I tried making it without the chicken and used chickpeas instead..then threw in extra veggies. It was good that way too!

Cambodian Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2010
Super Flavor! Very Yummy! I agreed with other raters...it needed more veggies. I went ahead and added diced up sweet potatoes, zucchini and yellow onions to give it more body. It made it a hearty and very delicious soup! 5 stars with adding the veggies in!

Kitty Litter Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
My 8th grade daughter took this as an object lesson for school. She had to demonstrate 'something' and she spoke on how to clean a kitty litter box for her example...using this edible cake. a BIG hit with the students and teacher as well. She got an "A"! but grossed everyone out when she ate one of the 'poop-ies' at the end of her talk!

Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
In our opinion...the BEST spanish rice recipe out there! We've made it a dozen times or more and its always satisfying. If you like it really spicy...exchange one cup broth for 1 cup salsa to give it more kick.
