I'm a working mom & wife to two wonderful boys (that's my husband and 11 yr old son!) :) I'm enjoying cooking more and more, especially since I ran across this site! I first really got into the kitchen when I took a cake decorating class and I have since gotten more and more experimental (and braver)! I really enjoy making desserts, mainly because my husband is very picky about main dish meals. But I'm starting to throw in a few new dishes! He's good about trying them, and then being my own personal food critic! :) It actually help out for next time! My family doesn't really have an cooking traditions. But we definitely have our favorites, especially for Christmas. For example, Cream Puff Cake, carmel corn & pumpkin rolls! Can you tell we like our desserts! :) One of my biggest cooking triumph is baking and decorating a 3-layered wedding cake for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. Everyone thought it was professionally made! It was totally gone by the end of the evening! And then recently my husband and I did a wedding BBQ for 300 people (that's a lot of meat!). We did tri-tip, chicken breast and pork tender-loin on my husband's trailer BBQ. Everyone wanted our business catering cards! Maybe we should start our own business!!? :) I just cook what looks and sounds good. If there is a long list of ingredience that I don't normally stock in my kitchen, I probably won't make it. But no major tragedies!
