We loved this recipe! I did boil the potatoes for 25 minutes before adding to the other ingredients. I would NOT increase the brown sugar in this recipe - everyone felt that it was already sweet enough, possibly a little too sweet. That may be because I used Gala apples but I don't think it made that much of a difference. I loved the lemon flavor. Next time I will use more than 3 slices. Thank you for a recipe that everyone in my family loves!

I just didn't care for this soup. I halved the recipe and used less tomato as suggested. I also like spices so I added thyme and garlic. I don't think extra clams could have saved this one.

My husband said this was nearly as good as the pit Kalua pork he had growing up.(Trust me, that's a big concession!)This was such an easy recipe. I had a hard time finding the Hawaaian sea salt. Trader Joe's no longer carries it here in the Phoenix area, and Whole Foods did not have it, either. I ordered it online but later found it at World Market.I used a pork picnic roast, on sale for 99 cents/pound. Served it with cooked cabbage, macaroni salad, short grain rice and hawaaian rolls. No one needed barbeque sauce for this one. Thanks for a great recipe!
