Simple Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2013
Don't usually care too much for stroganoff but, had all of the ingredients on hand and wanted a quick dinner. Had to use 2 beef boullion cubes with some water because I didn't have any beef broth. Husband and I each had 2 helpings. Surprisingly good.

BBQ Dry Rub

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2013
Very good! Used it on pork chops that I grilled on the Foreman grill. I liked the sweetness/saltiness in this. Adjusted the amount for 8 servings and still made a lot, I ended storing the rest for next time. I think I will try it on salmon next time!

Have made this salad countless times. Delicious! Love it in the summertime alongside of grilled chicken. Simple and awesome!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2013
I didn't have enough oats, so I halved the recipe. I also took the advice of other reviewers and skipped chilling the dough and did not flatten with a sugar-dipped fork. These cookies didn't need it, as they were sweet enough. Cookies were soft and chewy with nice crispy edges. Great recipe! Will try adding in other goodies next time. Thanks for sharing!

Mary's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2013
Not sure how this has such high ratings. Followed recipe as is. Did not like the bread in it at all, and the glaze was too sweet. Could not eat more than a few bites of this, even though I was still hungry. I was looking for a different meatloaf recipe but, I think I will just stick to the usual way I make it. This just didn't cut it.

Butterscotch Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2013
I did not care for this bread at all. Yes, it was very easy to make, and came out looking perfect. Unfortunately, it did not taste as good as I thought it would, based on all the positive reviews. Tasted nothing like butterscotch, instead just had a weird taste, in my opinion.

THE Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2013
Was expecting more but, this was just okay. Kind of boring. My husband said he liked it although we had plenty of leftovers that we ended up tossing. Was looking for a new pasta salad recipe but I think there are better ones out there. Won't be making this again.

Homemade Wonton Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2013
So glad I tried this recipe! I am a soup lover, and I love wonton soup but have always been intimidated by it...figured it was too much work and that it probably called for ingredients that were hard to find/too expensive. I was so wrong! This soup was so good. Super easy to make. Tasted just like a wonton soup you would get at a good Chinese restaurant. We always have soy sauce and sesame oil in our pantry and shrimp in our freezer, so I only needed the pork and bok choy. This is a pretty inexpensive meal, and is done rather quickly. The wontons were so easy to make. Looking forward to making this again and playing with the ingredients!

Scrambled Egg Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2013
Good recipe. Used chorizo instead. I cooked it on a skillet first and added one medium shredded potato, then drained the fat. Only problem was that they stuck to the muffin liners. I also wish they had puffed up more but, overall this is a fun way to make eggs. Nice for a grab n' go breakfast, or for a breakfast potluck or brunch.

Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2013
These were very good. Had some cream cheese I was trying to use up and I came across this recipe. Only thing I did differently was that I used mini chocolate chips and they worked great. The cream cheese gives these such a nice and rich flavor and texture. Not overly sweet. Since I like my muffins on the sweeter side I might use a bit more sugar next time. So good warm out of the oven!

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

I love these muffins. Have made them countless times whenever we have leftover bananas. They are so easy to make and everyone who has tried them really likes them. I also use yogurt instead of milk. Thanks for a great recipe!

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2013
These sounded very easy to make, but they were a total mess! I refrigerated the truffles first but, they were nearly impossible to coat.

Bev's Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2013
Made this tonight with bone-in, skin on, chicken thighs. Didn't change anything about recipe. Not impressed. Just not what I expected. I thought it had a weird smell. I did not like the taste of the chicken skin, and I normally love chicken skin...think it's the best part! Not this time. This dish was also very greasy with the thighs. Was looking forward to this but, oh well, won't be making this again.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2012
Made this for dinner tonight, following the recipe as is, with the addition of some roasted baby carrots, potatoes, celery, and a quartered onion to serve alongside.I thought it was very moist, and had a nice taste. I only wish my chicken skin had been a little crispier. It was a bit soft. My husband loved it, and my kids ate it up! My 3 year old even had seconds. Very good recipe overall, will make again!

Seasoned Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: May 9, 2012
Prepared these exactly as directions state. I thought they were pretty good. Not overly salty, in my opinion. The taste kind of reminded me of a Salisbury steak. I made them on our Foreman Grill, cooked for about 15 minutes. Got 5 good- size patties. I served them on a sesame bun with tomato slices, swiss cheese and avocado. I would probably rate them 3.5 stars if I could but my husband thought they were great. He said they were the best turkey burgers I've made, so I feel like 4 stars is fair. Thanks for recipe!

Super Seven Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
Have made this salad twice now. It is a great recipe that can lend itself to many combinations of fruit and cheese. I made it without the red onion the first time simply because I didn't have any, and it was still great. The 2nd time I added a handful of sunflower seeds and they added a nice salty crunch. Great recipe...thanks for sharing!

Strawberry Pie II

This was my 1st time making strawberry pie. My husband loves it, so I thought I would give it a try. I made this using the Butter Flaky Pie Crust on this site and it was a great and easy to make pie! I managed to impress not only my husband, but myself as well!

Pie Crust IV

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
This pie crust was so quick and easy to make. Dough was very easy to work with. Followed the advice of another reviewer and added a bit of sugar to the dough, probably about a teaspoon. Used this to make a fresh strawberry pie to use up some strawberries that were in my fridge. I baked it at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes or so. This recipe is a very good one. It produced a nice, flaky, simple crust that I will definitely make again. Thanks for sharing.

Cocktel de Camaron

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2012
When I first read that this recipe called for orange soda, I thought it was so weird, but I happened to have some on hand, so I thought why not? Well, as soon as I tried it, I was immediately taken to my childhood visits to my grandparents house in Tijuana Mexico, and eating shrimp cocktails on the corner seafood stand! This is what I remember a shrimp cocktail tasting like. So great1 Thanks so much for sharing!
