Spaghetti Sauce with Ground Beef

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2014
Really like this recipe and it's easy to make. I add the garlic, onion, and green pepper after the meat (I used 1.5 lbs) is browned (saute in butter with half of seasonings while the meat is draining - then add the beef back in). I puree the canned diced tomatos (don't care for chunky tomatos) with the other half of the seasonings - add this, tomato sauce and paste to ground beef mixture. Add a teaspon or sugar, simmer for an hour & serve. Delicious!

Broccoli Cheese Soup V

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2013
This was a hit in my house. After reading some of the reviews, I adjusted the recipe to use fresh broccoli instead of frozen; added garlic & some pureed broccoli stalk to the onions & butter; used 1/2 pound velveet, 1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese, and 1/2 pound mild cheddar cheese. All in all, a good soup.

Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2011
Instead of cream of mushroom, I substitute one can cream of potato, one can cream of chicken. I have made this both on the stove top and in the crockpot - tastes great both ways.

This as okay, but too much sodium for me and I thought it lacked flavor.

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
Did not care for this at all, just way too tomato-y for me and my family. I ended up straining the broth and making into a chicken salsa.

Hot Ham and Swiss Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
Ommited the caraway seeds, used 1 tablespoon of regular mustard, served on sour dough toast in lieu of crackers. Very, very good.

Easy to make. Can adjust sweetness to your preference...I used 3 cups sugar instead of 4. Everyone loved it.

Cherry Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2006
I substituted apple pie filling instead of cherry. I also used 2 cans, layering pie filling, pork chops, pie filling. The chops were probably the tenderest I ever made.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2006
One of my daughters and myself thought it to be too sweet, my husband and other daughter thought it was good. Other than the sweetness, I didn't find it to be too different than my standard meatloaf recipe.

Slow Cooker Maple Country Style Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2006
This was delicious! However, I did make a few changes. I doubled the sauce, adding one extra tablespoon of maple syrup (since I didn't have real maple syrup as other posters suggested) - and I made the sauce the night before and refrigerated until ready to use the next morning. I used boneless pork ribs, and marinated 2 hours in before turning my crock pot on. The family loved - every bit was gone. I did heat up some Montgomery Inn barbecue sauce for dipping. Scrumptous!

I don't care for tuna salad, so I made it for my daughter and asked her to rate it on a scale of 1-5. She gave it a 4.

Beef and Noodle Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2006
I added onion powder to the meat while browning, used velveeta on the first layer and shredded cheese on the top layer. In additional, I substituted rotini for the macoroni. Covered for the first 20 minutes while baking. My husband said "I don't know how you made this, but definitely make it again." We both enjoyed.

I found this to be a little bland. Liked the potatoes, the chops were dull. Will probably make again omitting the chops.
