Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze

I prepared these exactly as written using a basic red table wine and good balsamic vinegar. The steaks turned out spectacular -- restaurant quality.

This is the best dip I have made in years. I prepared it and transported it to a Trivia Night Event for charity and the folks at the table went face-down into the dip. We used corn chips and crackers -- I liked the crackers best. TRY THIS ONE!

Green Tomato Cake

This was a surprising treat for the end of the harvest. I gave it 5 stars because it had great taste and for its unique ingredients. The whole house smelled awesome while this was baking, although I did have to bake it significantly longer than the directions indicated.

Midwestern House Salad Dressing

Very creamy dressing with unique (unbottled) flavor. It is slightly sweet, slightly tangy. I wouldn't change a thing, although next time I will cut the serving size in half because this did make a huge quantity (and there are only two of us). This tastes great as a dressing on cheeseburgers. Who knew?!

Barbecued Shrimp

This was a yummy recipe and very easy. I try to review recipes "as written" so those reading reviews will actually get a review of the posted recipe, but in this case I didn't have fresh shrimp. Instead, I used thawed frozen shrimp. I prepared the sauce and ladled it over the shrimp and placed it into the oven to bake as directed. The end result was great. I reduced the size of the recipe to "1" which used 1 -lb of shrimp and it fed two easily with salads. I'll cut back a pinch on the salt next time.

Dried Cherry Cake

I prepared this recipe exactly as written and it turned out great. It was moist and great with coffee. It also had a long "keeping" life. I used a round pan, but plan to experiment with other pans in the future.

Candy Bar Fudge

I found this recipe in one of the Christmas Gooseberry books and made it this year. Now I see it here on-line as well. This was easy and delicious and I will make it again. I rated 4 because it didn't cut very easily and didn't look as appealing as other items on our dessert bar this year, but it tasted great.

Steakhouse Wheat Bread for the Bread Machine

The bread has an excellent flavor but it did not work well in the bread machine. The outer crust was slightly burned, probably due to the high sugar content, and the inside was sticky and seemed undercooked. If I use this again I would increase yeast, increase flour, and slightly decrease honey.

Perfect Flat Iron Steak

The Best Garlic Bread

The name doesn't describe the end result by far. The ingredients have possibilities, but the quantities need adjustment. Sorry, we thought it was awful.
