About this Cook
I am 25 years old and engaged to a wonderful man... my high school sweetheart! We recently purchaced our 1st home together and my favorite part about it is the big kitchen!! We both love to cook, and since I always ate out as a child, it's a real treat for me to have my own kitchen where I can create my own masterpieces ( and disasters! )
My favorite things to cook
Everything. I enjoy cooking for other people, anything from big breakfasts to holiday meals and family get togethers. My dad was a chef, so I guess that rubbed off!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My great-grandparents raised me, so you'd think I would have generations-old knowledge of how to suceed in the kitchen. Unfortunately, my sweet little Mama said and I quote : "I've spent the last 50 years cooking for everyone else, and I'm not gonna do it anymore." so, we ate out. Alot! I'ts up to me to create some traditions for my future family.
My cooking triumphs
Last Easter, we were in a small apartment. But it was stll my first kitchen of my own, so I wanted to cook an Easter dinner for anyone who wanted to come. I heard about my fiances mom using Coca-cola as a glaze for ham so I tried it. Needless to say,if you've ever had it this way you know, I had nothing left but the bone for ham salad the next day!
My cooking tragedies
Thankfully I haven't had one of momentus occasion yet. Sometimes even if I don't think something I've made is the best, I have my fiance there to tell me it was great anyway. Maybe he's just being nice!!

Zesty Pork Tenderloin
Made this for dinner last nite... It stayed really really juicy, but I found the soy sauce to be over-powering on the potatoes and carrots. Teryaki will be a sub next time I try this one!
