Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2007
This is a very good recipe. I used the tips suggested by previous posters, and I took half of the broccoli/chicken broth base and pureed it in the blender. I also added shredded cheese on top. Yummmm!

Parmesan Zucchini Spears

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
If I could give more stars I would! My 5 year old daughter (who hates squash) asks for it every night now. I like to make add a little parmesan while frying for the "burnt" cheese taste, and cook until blackend. Mmmmmm! So tasty! My daughter and I fight over the blackest pieces. Thank you!

Broccoli Cheese Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
This was delicious! After reading some of the reviews saying it was too eggy or quiche like, I decided to omit one of the eggs. I used 1 cup swiss cheese and 3 cheddar because I did not have enough swiss. I used about one of the three cups of cheddar and sprinkled over the top. The last 10 minutes I broiled it which gave it a nice crips browned cheesy top. Delicious!

Crystal's Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
These cookies are fabulous! I followed the recipe exactly but I did add some red food coloring for a more orange cookie. I took them to work and to some friends and there was not a crumb left! They are all asking for a repeat. For the reviewers who complained about them being "cake like", that is how they are supposed to be. Great recipe, thanks!

Broccoli Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
This was just alright. It was very edible, but I will not be making it again this way. I prefer the true alfredo taste which this is lacking. It is worth trying though to see if you like it, and it is definately easy.

The Best Ugly Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2008
I discovered this "trick" about 7 years ago and will never go back! It is the juiciest and best tasting bird you will ever have. Not to mention the easiest. No laboring over a hot oven basting the turkey over and over again. If I am not hosting, I am a bit pushy and insist on the host doing it this way. I have people calling me asking how they can get their turkey so moist.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
Wow! These were awesome! I took some tips here and made three different batches. One as written, one with Nutter butters and 2 butterfingers, and one as written with a package of thin mints thrown in. They were all wonderful. My personal favorite was the mint batch. I put the balls in the fridge to harden prior to dipping them in chocolate. After being in the fridge I rolled them again before dipping and they came out nice and round.

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
I made this for Christmas morning, it was excellent. I followed a few tips here and added sugar and a little milk to the (room temperature) cream cheese. I left the bread slices whole and spread the cream cheese over them and made them into "sandwiches". I called it "Stuffed blueberry french toast". I also made extra syrup. It was a huge hit. Thanks for this recipe.

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
I made this for Christmas morning. It was a huge hit. The only modification I made was using cream of mushroom soup instead of potato. I may try the potato next time, but we all thought it was great the way it was.

Neat Sloppy Joes

Awesome! These were absolutely wonderful as written. I used the food processor to finely chop the celery and onion so the kids didn't grumble. They absolutely added to the flavor. You will not regret trying this recipe.

Whole Grain Waffles

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2009
These are wonderful, you have to try them! I followed some suggestions and used applesauce instead of oil and they turned out fabulous. I also ground up oatmeal in place of the wheat germ, because I did not find it when I went to the store (I will be looking again). Some suggested to switch the amount of flax for wheat germ and I think this would be a mistake. The flavor is wonderful. I did use milled (ground) flax not seeds. I made these into pancakes, but will try waffles in the future. I doubled the recipe and it made 22 pancakes for me. They were nice and dense, just how I like my pancakes. My 7 year old and 4 year old gobbled them up and said "I can't believe these are healthy!" Thank you so much for the recipe.

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
This was very good, as is. But with a few minor changes, you can make this in a LOT less time (and less dishes!). As another reviewer mentioned, I placed the frozen chicken breasts in a crock pot on low with chili powder, onion, taco seasoning, garlic powder and onion powder. That evening I shredded the chicken inside the crock pot in under 2 minutes, added the green chilies, and lime juice. In a separate bowl I mixed the cream of chicken, sour cream and more chili powder. I omitted the butter all together saving calories, and it won't be missed. Then I layered half the cream sauce on the bottom of the 9x13 inch pan and mixed the rest into the chicken mixture still in the crock pot. Then I placed a layer of tortillas (I used corn) in the pan, followed by the entire chicken mixture, cheese, another layer of tortillas, enchilada sauce, cheese, and olives. Prep time for the entire meal was 10 minutes. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! Next time I will use green enchilada sauce (personal preference for chicken.)

Salsa Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2010
7yo, 4yo, and hubby approved!!! I used brown rice instead of white, added a can of rotel tomatoes in addition to the salsa, added a can of corn and a can of black beans, added flavor and texture. I also seasoned the chicken with taco seasoning. And I accidently only used 2 cups of cheese (with great results.) It was superb and I will be making it this way in the future.

Bacon-Balsamic Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
To cut down on time I put all the ingredients into a food processor. These were not creamy like we are used to, and the family did not care for them. I thought the flavor was good, but definitely needed more mayo and or some mustard
