Swedish Meatballs I

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
Used Italian bread crumbs instead of cream of wheat and I think that made a huge difference in the flavor of the meatballs. Added some Worchestire to the sauce. Good recipe when you're in a bind and need to use ingredients on hand.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
The only reason I did not give it a 5 was beacuase I made some changes- I didn't really measure how many potatoes I thew in, and it must have been alot becuase I used three cans of beef broth. Flavor was great, made great leftovers.

Slow Cooker Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2007
Good, not great. The chicken got so tender it fell apart, which I was not expecting, so that made it different than I had anticipated. It was pretty salty with the ham, cream of chicken, cheese, butter, and seasoning from the stuffing. I think next time I will omit the butter and instead pour the remaining soup over the stuffing. But, I plan to make this again, it's great cold-weather food.

Baked Spaghetti I

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
I was pleasantly surprised with this recipe. I was worried about it being too dry, so I added more water to the soup than the recipe called for and that seemed perfect. Even the leftovers we not too dry. This will be great to experiment with ingredients on hand.

Chicken Pot Pie IV

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2007
EXCELLENT. My husband said, "Add this to my list of favorites!" Substituted frozen veggies I had on hand. Wish there was more left over.

Great! Quick and easy--- I used 1 bag of frozen veggies and it worked great. A healthy, filling choice.

Cake Mix Cookies III

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2007
These are definitely not the best cookie recipe ever, but I had these cookies in the oven within 5 minutes of finding the recipe. For a pregnant lady with a serious craving, they were perfect. I was weary of adding sugar to the cake mix, but I think the flavor was great. (I used a white cake mix, no chips.)

Michael's Chicken

There was nothing spectacular about this sauce. It wasn't disgusting, but I will not make it again.

Chilie Pork Tacos

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
This was really good, but I wish I used the other suggestions to decrease the vinegar. I will make these again, but I will use less vinegar. I used left over pork roast, shredded, and it worked great.

Japanese Peanut Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2007
A great, versatile dressing! I tried it on different salads and it went great with everything. Loved the crunch added by the sesame seeds and peanuts.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
Delicious! Much better than other chocolate cookie recipe I found. I used a mixture of semi-sweet and Andes Mint chips. Definitely better to make a double batch.

Spanish Rice II

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
I loved this rice. I served it with something pretty spicy, so it was good that it was slightly milder. Didn't have green pepper, so I added extra chiles. Also, a little salt becuase for me, everything needs salt.

Broccoli Chicken Braid

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2006
The flavor was DELICIOUS! I used plain yogurt instead of mayonaise to cut the fat. The only problem was getting the dough to cook all the way through- even after leaving it in almost 25 minutes (any longer would have burnt the top) it was still doughy on the inside. Next time, I will probably cook it longer on a lower temperature.

The dough was much better than the cookie. I prefer a classic No-Bake cookie.

Cream Puffs

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2006
Make sure they are all the way cooked, or else they will be flat and not very pretty (but still yummy.) I used chocolate pudding instead of vanilla- perfect for a choco-holic

Broccoli Cheese Crepes

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2006
These were pretty good and really easy. I'm not a good crepe-maker, so they were too thick and there weren't enough crepes to finish off the filling. I saved it and te next night reheated it with a little half and half and served it over chicken and rice. GREAT use of a leftover!

Apple Danish Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2006
Delicious! I didn't have almonds or almond extract on hand, so I just used an extra 1/2 cup flour and vanilla in the crust. I did not sprinkle almonds on top, either. It turned out GREAT and I don't think i will use almonds next time I make this.

German Pancake

My mom used to make this for us all the time- it's delicious and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a change from the usual breakfast. But you MUST make the syrup too because the combination is senstational.

Spinach Enchiladas

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2006
This was good, but not what I was expecting. The ricotta and spinach made it taste very manicotti-like. Next time I will probably use more sour cream, less ricotta, and add more spices (I added a little this time.) Overall, quick, simple, and delicious.
