My favorite things to cook
I'm an expert at leftovers and last minute throw-togethers. I used to love cooking with fresh ingredients and making exotic dishes before we bought our money pit - The House From He11. Now I'm more concerned with squeezing every penny from each dollar I can. So. Beans, rice, and leftover beans and rice.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother was a horrible cook. There are no traditions except gray meat and squishy vegetables.
My cooking triumphs
Recently I made a quiche from leftovers that stunned both me and my husband. It. Was. Fantastic.
My cooking tragedies
Are many. I experiment like mad. Failure happens when you do this. So do fantastic dishes from unexpected ingredients.

Sparky's Doggie Treats
My dog is the pickiest dog in the world and she loves these. I'm making Christmas biscuit platters for the neighborhood dogs this year and these will be well loved. Minor changes that I made: Like other reviewers, I used regular flour instead of corn starch and threw in a little extra when it came out too mushy. Rolled them into a ball and squished flat before baking.

Easy Bacon and Cheese Quiche
Wow. Great recipe for customizing! I had some leftover bacon/cheddar cheese and wasn't really thinking about quiche, but this caught my eye. Only 2% milk available, but had some leftover sour cream (used 1/2 2% and 1/2 sour cream as called for) - Followed the rest of the recipe and it came out bang-on! So well that I made it *again* the following night. Really great. Thanks!
